If anybody want's to do this again you can get much cheaper eurostar tickets if you clear your cookies and set your home country to be australia or new zealand.
Basically, for some reason eurostar assume that English people who want single tickets must be travelling for business and charge more. If you set your country of origin to be somewhere outside europe you can get singles for ~£25.
Also, the £20 bike fee guarantees that your bike will get to st.pancras within 2-3 days, this means that you don't have to travel with your bike. However it also means that your bike might not be on the same train as you so don't count on that.
When I last took my bike on it they had two ten-bike trollies and plenty of room so my bike came with me on the same train.

It means people on here are still ignoring the wonderfuladvicelaws of nature I lay down upon them. Basically, it proves that the masses can't be told and they are cretinous infidels.

Armadillos. Heavy as you like but [almost] nothing gets through them.
-
• #245
I'm giving Conti GP4k's the cold shoulder for a while. Getting some Maxxis Refuse next. A number of forumengers swear by them.
Apparently, they have at least the same level of protection as armadillos, but infinitely better grip and lower rolling resistance.
-
• #246
yeah, armadillos are as tough as hell. tried them though and hated riding them though.
was like rooting with two cockbags on, brah.
might give the maxxis ones a go. -
