Thanks, I don't normally do box art, but thought this one was worth it.

Awesome. Reckon you could get the bubbles out from below the stripes?
I painted mine to avoid that problem, but it didn't come out that great, and was bastard to cut.

No idea if they have a suitable shell but L&L models have some good ones
I have a Volvo 850 estate shell waiting for my TT02 to be finished.

I've tried hairdryer and heat gun with no luck so far.
Not too bothered as I am going to run it as I have no "shelf queens". I really don't like the term, I have no problem with the concept for others, but the name is a bit silly.

Looking good.
I do fancy the RSR re re
I had to put firmer tyres (TAMIYA RACING SEMI SLICKS) on my TL-01 😁

Are you happy with these tyres? Do you know if they'd fit the standard M08 wheels? Foam inserts?
-
• #2635
I have a feeling the M Chassis wheels are a smaller diameter.
I am sure Tamiya recommended would suit.

I've just had a Sand Scorcher shell delivered for the CC02. Unfortunately I have no idea what colour to paint it. Definitely not box art.

My TT02 really build will wait until spring. My nephew is visiting in the summer, so having 2 cars to hoon around would be optimal.

That’s such a cool body. Not sure about the MB-01 chassis though.

And is the RC Mustang (it is a Mustang, right?) yours?
Tell us more - how difficult is it to fly?

Marlboro livery?

Yeah.
They are the 400 / 450 mm wingspan RTFs
Really taken off (Get it) You can even get tail wheel control 493mm 3s from E-Flite now.
Mine is a 1S Top Flite 450mm P-51. Flies in light winds v well from the box. (75 Quid)
Also easy enough with 3 flight modes (beginner / inter / advanced)
Loads of stacks but thats part of the fun at that scale. Also u dont need a license.
I also have the 400mm Volantex / Sonik 109 & F4U for le shit... etc
Batteries last about 20mins and easy to replace recharge.
Prop also clips on and easy to replace.

Sounds like enormous fun.
There’s a field near my in-laws in Germany, where flying is allowed; I might have to get my hands on one for when we visit!

Basically they would be near impossible to fly at that scale without drone Gyro tech.
The advanced mode switches the gyro off and then I crash.
That said, its really fun to get to a v high altitude (GHz transmitter gives great range)
Then cut power and put it on advanced. Death spiral to about 10m and switch the gyro back on.
All the while looking like you know what you are doing.

I haz the corsair. It's loads of fun. Is mostly held together with gaffa tape and superglue at this point. I bent the propshaft when my 5yo nosedived it into the ground from 30m at full pelt. I managed to get it working with some plier fettling and small blob of blu-tak to stop the prop pinging off due to vibrations. I chucked it in the cupboard for months and one of the wings got bent and the spar snapped after people chucking bags on top of it. Even after all of that it still flies fine in full noob gyro mode.

That reminds me. I have a parkzone Mustang in the shed from about 20 years ago. Must try and find it!
Needs a gyro lol -

Is anyone using Buyee for their Tamiya fixes, particularly vintage/older stuff?
Just ordered a NIB TB04 Pro 2 for £94. Will pay about £35 in shipping from Japan. Comes with TRF shocks which cost about £80 on their own.

• #2649
No. Good to know tho.
Let us know if it is as described.

This is my third order. First was an M05 Pro for £95 also, with a set of titanium hex screws included. Was perfect.
Second was my CC02 G500. Also came with a set of beadlock rims and soft tyres for £110. Again was as described. I've only used the Mercari section of Buyee. Buyee receive the parcel, check it is what you ordered and then ship as per your preference.
"Still need to trim the body posts, fit some lights and maybe change the wheels, but its getting there."
