  • No. only members can use it and you need to have a licence too.

  • Random track musings.
-Looks like there’s a big road track in Uxbridge: https://wlrc.co.uk/
-There used to be a small dirt oval track in the park next to the dump in Penge. I can’t even find the old dump so don’t even know if it’s still there or gone.
-The empty paddling pool in Alexandra Recreation Ground in Sydenham used to make a good banked oval but I don’t think it’ll be big enough for brushless 1/10. Can see it on Google Maps.
-There used to be a big off-road track in a park out near Ruislip or Ealing but literally no idea where that one was.

Really? Awesome. There was a big one is Aylesbury.

  • Ah the Optima Mid 87 and the Yokomo 870c look like interesting builds.

  • Yeah man, the Mid 87 looks great

  • I only have Tamiya, but if I was to go off piste, I think I'd go for a Schumacher's maybe the Pro Cat rere. They're just a bit different. I don't know why, but the Kyosho's just don't appeal to me.

  • Schumacher stuff is pretty singleminded. All race, no niceties. Like the optmia above but with the joy sucked out.

Also building those plastic sliding UJs. Good design, nightmare to construct.

  • The Kyosho stuff is lovely to build. Everything just goes together and lines up perfectly. I also built the “budget” Ultima Dirt Master and that’s the same.

    Oh and hex hardware.

Saying all of that, I am looking forward to building this M08 chassis and I still want an Egress.

Good job I made another peg board to display them all!

  • Btw, I welcome paint job ideas for a Datsun 510.

  • I do like the sound of a decent buggy ie Kyosho / Schumacher but I seem to go soft the more I look at the fragile seperate spoilers.

They just scream future damage imo.

Those Opitma 'protecters' look good tho eh

  • wait WUHT... (Avanti levels of front travel too)

  • Then again. This anodised skid plate is screaming Shelf Queen Storage pls!

  • Fit an undertray and send it!

  • CC02 G500 done for now.

I will run for a bit, then try some beadlock rims and softer tyres, some added weights and look at making an axle mounted servo holder.

  • Have you seen the new Tamiya releases from the Nuremberg toy fair?

Citreon DS and XM-01 (expensive) look good and the rere Manta Ray

    https://kentech.wordpress.com/

  • Ohhh what is the XM-01?

I still have an XV-01 in a box (I stole its geared diffs for the abandoned TD4 project) .

Manta-Ray is like a Re-Re-Re and they are Re-Re-Reing the Top Force IIRC.

  • Its like the XV02 Pro, but M chassis size.

  • This looks really good, mate.

  • Cheers.
Will be used as a trail truck, see if I can take it on walks with the kids. Have a 35t motor so should last a while on a big lipo.

Don't think I'll be trying any proper rock crawling.

  • Chassis has been built for a few weeks, but only gotten round to finishing the body due to the weather. Tyre lettering is already wearing off, as is the paint on the driver!

Took for a spin this morning, I'm using a sensored brushless motor (a Tamiya 13.5t TBLE02s) for the first time, twinned with a Tamiya TBLE04RS esc. It's so smooth compared to my 2 other buggies which have Superstock BZ motors.

  • Like!

How does it go with that motor/esc combo? What battery are you using?

  • Its on 2s. Its about as quick as the Superstocks too, but as I said, so much smoother and pretty quiet.

  • The 10.5 Tamiya Motor is pretty good for buggies although it can cook the TBLE speed controllers.
