  • These are RAD.

    Even in 80% guise.

Someone (me) needs to make a full size 90s buggy.

    I'm thinking Firedragon. 😎

  • Sticking to my colour scheme, but I think it will look okay on this. By all accounts it’s a fucking nightmare of a shell to do......

  • Cool, 6 parts to this body shell and over 60 decals.........

  • So... I couldn't resist a local ad and am now the owner of a somewhat battle scarred Sand Viper LOL! I've given it a quick once over and know the following:

    • Battery is dead
    • Suspension (blue friction style) is lifeless - even after trying the 'grease the shafts' trick
    • Receiver () is the old style crystal

But, the motor (a 540 so I believe) does work (hooked it up to a good battery and it spun both wheels).

Given that the receiver (TRU-02) is the old style crystal type, when I replace it will I have to get a new speed controller too (current one is the TEU 101BK)? Or can I get hold of an older style radio to use with the receiver?

  • No.

ESC should work with Mhz receiver.

  • Came across these in the loft. Acoms quick charger I think is originally from 1986/1987. Motor and ESC are around 1995.

  • Cool. That'll save me a Β£5 LOL :) I was looking at the Flysky GT2 (with rcvr). Any good?

  • Man, those Acoms 12v chargers bring back memories

  • Yeah, flysky are fine.

  • Just finished the body to the truck, over 100 decals......

  • Noice. Is rear or 4wd?

  • You've made a cracking job of that.πŸ‘Œ

  • 8T brushed... 😎

  • Looks a little hard to control ;)

  • Heh. My sloppy style.

    4wd tail happy drifting.

  • Are the drift spec TT02, any different than the non-drift version?
    Other than tyres?

Looking to build a touring car on a TT02 chassis, and TT02D chassis seem to be cheapest (and most readily available)

Will probably be hopping up a bit.

(ideally I would get a type SR chassis, but they seem to be unavailable everywhere)

  • I think hit has some up-grades over the stock TT02, possibly CVA shocks...

  • Cheers, I recall looking at that page a while back, but couldn't find it again (I didn't try very hard...)

Guess it doesn't really matter what I get as they are all upgradable.

  • Y skidz so much fun? 😊

  • New off road 'racing' chassis; everyone will be stoked to know it's got two balldiffs.

  • Will be selling my DT02 Sand Viper and all the gear (spares, batteries, charger, controller, etc etc) if anyone is after a fantastic starter bundle.

  • N00b question here, just built a DT-03 Neo Fighter, it goes pretty well when my son's not crashing it, but the rear right wheel nut unscrews when it hits grass. I've put new nuts on and tightened them up as hard as I can, but the Nylock nuts still come undone. Can I put Threadlock on it, or is that a bad idea? Is something else wrong, Google search comes up with nowt...
