Jono got kicked out of the fucking league despite having pleaded with them to stay in it!
Don't even purport to know what goes on at Apples HQ dude. We talked it through with Jono, he said it's ok, because we still want to play competitive games. And he can sub in the league if he so wishes. We're out of the league, that's our decision. We have already stated our reasons, of which you seem to dwell on only one of them. You said yourself:
I think the new league structure is fucking stupid. I agree with you. I just think that we should tough it out and play it -- it's like six or seven games, how bad could that possibly be to have to play seven polo games?!?
How bad can it be? Well, I don't have much time or 'good days' with my stomach/liver/whatever it is that's going on to be able to choose when those days are, so yeah, the league could be pretty fucking bad. Emilie's decision not to play is his own, and I wholly agree that we also shouldn't play because the league has become a farce. That's my opinion, I do not expect others to agree it's a farce.
I'm surprised, that you, of all people, are willing to just 'grin and bear it' with the current format. I guess we all have our own reasons to play or not. I just want to play good games, whenever I can.

Gabes,
I said before that I was sorry to hear that your health was impacting on your polo, although I think it may be that polo has impacted your health. I wish all the best with that, and I really hope that you work it out.
I took a break from polo over the summer (it actually ended up being a lot longer than I intended because my back wheel got nicked), because I really had had enough, and I had reached the stage where I really wasn't enjoying the polo or the company. I am not going to go into the reasons why I felt like that, it had a lot more to do with me than anything or anyone else.
When I came back, I felt a lot more into polo than I had, I have been enjoying my polo, and, all in all, a complete break from polo was exactly what I needed.

Polo probably hasn't done my back any good, but the issues I'm having at present have been around for longer than I have been playing polo, but after a shitty couple of months at work, things have got a lot worse. I don't want to go into the details on here, I need to have a series of hospital tests. Finger's crossed it's nothing too serious. I have to admit, the stress of not knowing what's happening really takes its toll and I am sorry if I have wound people up with my short temper (esp on here).
I want to play polo, but you're right, a break is definitely going to be good for me.

Um, yes. I object to the spot becoming a 'bye'. Apples have left the league.
So... its pretty silly for two teams to have a bye when they could both be playing games this fortnight.
Its not about objections. As far as I'm concerned, play the games whenever you want.
The issue is this. Your division now has less teams. This means you will play less games. Consequently you will have a period in which you play no games while the other larger division catches up and plays their games. This has to happen before the playoffs.
We can reschedule all the games (harder, now that some teams have played) so that your whole division has that month at the end of the season, at the same time, before the playoffs, or we can do nothing and treat each game as a bye, in which case every team will have a 2nd rolling 2 weeks without a fixture. So play them now if you want, but you will still have a 2nd two-week period. at some point, in which you have no fixture because your opponents have quit the league.

John, that's true, but it's still advantageous to treat it as an 8 team league, and play them as soon as possible, and keep the gap for the end. For one, if in the last fixture every Div A team plays within the 2 week period, all the Div B games will have been played in any case, meaning we can push forward the playoffs. Secondly, if a Div A team decides to quit for whatever reason, at some point in the season, depending on what fixtures remain, we then may still have the option to do the same for them, again reducing by a fixture week. This all assumes that the heythrop team, or some other replacement don't join within the next few days. But basically it makes no sense not to do it.

What I really meant was:
Continually create cost effective e-business with interdependent scenarios. Competently procrastinate backward-compatible platforms with robust value. Enthusiastically synergize virtual best practices via exceptional process improvements.
Holisticly procrastinate viral ideas before focused strategic theme areas. Dramatically seize transparent e-commerce for resource maximizing action items. Conveniently foster goal-oriented architectures without compelling mindshare.

Apart from the ones that mention ''procrastinate'', I'm pretty sure I can imagine any of those actually being used seriously. FML.
