Care to share where did you get those cheap chinese lights? The bay?
Yup, eBay.
They had four states- bright, dim, off, or flashing.
Go over a slight imperfection in the road surface and you'd change from whichever state you were in to another, chosen at random.
Ah, well the ones I got are solid, simple on/off solid push switch operation! I recommend those.

Little miffed with Merlin. No sign of my parcel after a couple weeks, they ignored a few emails and now they are out of stock. Can't help but think they were always out of stock.
Still, refunded me quickly so.

I'm using a Cree 5w front and rear lights and really pleased with them. Only on, seizure flashing or off modes. It did turn off by itself a few times, but I rode over some cobbles and it fixed it and has worked perfectly since. Ridden it in quite a lot of rain too. The bracket broke so I've taped it to my bars, but for £6 with postage I'm not complaining.

Fendor Bendor now available in the UK (with free delivery). Won't post the link because I'm not sure on the rules of linking to product pages for companies you work for. I'm not a buyer and I don't make any commission from this product. It is good though and I've been using one for a month now.
You can find it using google if you are interested.

Looks like a nice mudguard. Just a slight shame about the price for a small piece of plastic. My Poundland pair of guards were £1. I think £8 would maybe be a better price, though I guess it's all supply/demand at the end of the day to optimise profit.

Ah... Merlin....
I ordered 4 sets of wheels in March and have been emailing them every 2 to 4 weeks as they are telling me they cant get rear formula track hubs to build them up...

This just reminded me to check my bank account. They haven't bloody refunded me!
Just not worth saving the £5-10.

Shimano decore chainset. £60 with a bb, seems like a good price.
Plus it has a 48t outer chainring, so I'm going to be using it for a bit of touring next year, and shitty winters this year.

Welcome. I'd recommend that chainset, had one give three years service without a single problem. At that price it's a steal.

anyone heard of or used them? That is very cheap..
-

It's a US company so while it might seem cheap, you have to take into consideration of custom and VAT. Last time I checked, it's sth like the (total cost of parts + delivery) + 4% of import tax, and the total of that + 20% of VAT. You might as well get it in the UK.
I think I am talking sense but our office feels like an oven today so my brain is a bit fried, please correct me if I am wrong.
-
• #295
Nearly right; the 20% VAT goes on goods+shipping, but the 4-5% import duty is just on the goods. You then get stung by the delivery agent for £8-£15 for tax collecting duties. That makes the US price about £170 for a pair, you can get them for about that here.

• #296
Considering my brain wasn't working to its full capacity, I didn't do too bad then. Thanks for correcting, mate. Now I remember you'd have to pay ransom to the courier to have your goods released too. Unless it's much much cheaper, it's really not worth it in case any goes wrong, it'd be a long wait for return and re ship etc etc.
-
• #297
Well I'm in New Zealand so don't have to worry about VAT or Import Duty!
Does the site look legit to you guys though?
