Yes. I know what a prototype is, I didn't say that you had created a finished product, I was merely stating the original is better than I expected after seeing it first hand.
I've got to ask though. How much is it going to cost to design, source and manufacture your own? Is it really worth it?

If I make 100 I can bring my version to the forum members at a fraction of the price. Just depends on how many people are interested.

Good luck.

I think £20 for a bit of plastic is pushing it.. that price would be relying on exclusivity. You can get a full set of SKS chromoplastics for £25 (obv not the same thing, or scale, but you see where I'm going). Without a patent the price will inevitably fall.

I don't think it will cost anywhere near £20 for one. There is a patent pending on this design as well. I should have a sample on me later and think I'm heading to SE beers if anyone is interested in this fascinating bit of plastic!

these SKS ones which are very popular are about £12 everywhere
so I would say no more than £15. -

I don't understand what it is they'd have a patent on. The use of the flex in the plastic to hold it onto a bike as a fender? I had a slightly different idea where it would work in a similar way to those snap wristbands. Don't know if that would infringe on thier pending patent though...

I've got both kinds as rear lights, and think the Boomer is more visible than the Flea, although the Flea is very good too.

I've got a Knog rear light, it's been working for a couple of years now- nice and bright, does the job.
I've treated it to regular drenchings and it's (so far) never missed a beat.

They are poo.
It's called a prototype for a reason. I used the cover of a ring binder I had to hand when I read the post and decided to try making one.
Was looking into making improvements and having a company laser cut/score some out of thick but flexible LDPE for me.
