Good night tonight everyone. Thanks to all that came....
Can i just say that i didn't arrange for the scones and crackers to be laid on. Purely coincidental!
Good chat, good guinness, and nice bikes. Good times.Next quench - 29th October. Although I'd like to remind those that are going to the Chasing Legends film - Meet at the City Tavern, B15 1EJ. 7pm onwards.
We thought it best to meet near the cinema for an ale before the film.....
Keep your eyes peeled for info on the next meet. -

Tis the 21st not the 29th!
Anyone seen Hell on Wheels? Apparently Chasing Legends is a bit like that but more upbeat. Really enjoyed HoW so might come along for this

Still on for meeting before the film?

Brett - hoping to meet a few people at 7pm. I may be a little after 7, as i've got to rig a front brake up before heading out. Not sure who else is hoping to get there.
No comments as yet, but this is Birmingham...... -

Will be there, ticket booked. Where are you locking up your bikes, in the multi story carpark next to the pub? or is it okay to turn up to a cycling movie organised through a cycling forum sans bike?

Is lycra compulsory?

Chasing Legends.
Not bad i thought.
After speaking to Aeronaught - we both agreed that the film was awesome to see on the big screen, with some great footage, but it was a bit of a Columbia HTC promo film. Could have done with a few more "Legends" from Tour's gone by....
Like i said though - great to watch cycling on the big screen, and i've never really though of filming the tour as 'difficult', but my opinion was changed. -

I just wrote a review Barry Norman would have been proud of, but it got deleted. Grrr.
Cool film, a bit promo-ish, but interesting to see the inner-workings a bit.
Got proper aero on my way down Islington Row. Top tube/butt cheek steering ftw.

Was it worth £12 / going out on a cold, dark night after work?
I was really intent on watching it - I had every action planned beforehand, including swapping my late shift for an early one so i'd have time to go home, get changed and come back into town again; buying one 15p chocolate bar out of a £5 note so I'd have the correct change for the bus; and eating beans on toast for dinner to save time.
But with the central heating on and me being sat on the sofa with a cup of hot cocoa and cookies I was so warm and comfortable that I just couldn't leave the house.
I am such a couch potato it's a wonder I don't weigh 20 stone
