"Bottom Bracket I bought this NOS and has done 200 miles. Boxed as a Nervar with titanium axle it has cartridge bearings & is pretty light at 240g/118mm length. BTW both sides have Octagonal sided cups which is as it came to me."
So the weight sounds about right if this post is to be believed.
Oh hangon, it's a sale, perhaps where you got it?

From Cyclechat :)
"A quick scoot round the internets suggests Ti often contains iron and so can be a bit more magnetic than expected... And how strong are your magnets?"
So, someone scooted around the internet (presumably using google/wiki) and found some info for you.
Which part of that requires, as you say, expertise?

All forummers have to get approval from you do they, before posting queries ?
You - the 'expert'. But in what ?@ op: Bit of friendly advice, i wouldn't start antagonising the masses here.

The very one !!!
I didn't actually buy it off that forum, I only got it a few weeks ago. I put out a 'wanted' message (on here, amongst other places) and he replied; that is the exact 'titanium' BB that I purchased; still magnetic though :(
However, I've since learned that titanium axles are more prone to failure.
You state that "the weight sounds about right if this post is to be believed"; hence the uncertainty; but why is it magnetic ?
I'm unsure as to whether I should contact the seller.
Thank you by the way (genuinely), for an interesting reply - ta Hippy !

I know what my point is.
I welcome constructive & helpful remarks - you've made 5 postings and have yet to provide either!

I meant "the weight sounds about right if this post is to be believed" as in, your bb weighs the same as this guy's bb of the same make. But then it turns out to be exactly the same BB so there goes that point.
Sorry, I don't know what this BB should weigh.

Another example, not ti

Get a compass. Does the BB affect it? If not, get a big magnet to the BB, then run the test again with the magnet.
If at any point the compass is affected, then you have something with a lot of something that's not Ti in it.
Try measuring conductivity. Ti is about 3% that of copper, as does stainless, but they look very different. Al, for example, is about 30%

Right, so your response to me reminding you that there's really no need to ask for "expert" advice and that it can all be found using a simple internet search was met by you telling me that someone found the info using a simple internet search for you.
Then you quote two of my posts with no explanation given, when I asked why you gave no answer in your reply.
Are you 12?

A good suggestion, if I can find a compass, I'll give that a try - thanks for that !

Shite, they're still not convinced - forgot to add in some patronising offensiveness and belittling unwarranted irrelevance; dammit, were it not for that I could have gotten away with it...

That, sir, is a bacon covered apple pie.
Flan, indeed. Whatever next?
Sorry. But it's a bit of a quiche market you're aiming at there.

Hang on - something's gone wrong with the Board. That's over 3 mins since someone posted the word "kids", and no one's posted a paedo bear meme....
