Wow - thanks for sharing. I intend to use this secret phrase at the next custody hearing, when the fate of my two children will be decided.
Nah the code phrase for family courts is totally different... it's 'I want the kids so I can sell them on eBay to that nice man from the Satanist Church down the road. He says he can use them in some sort of exciting ritual something like scarface - is that the word?'

What is this 'research' for? Work? Uni project? Just for personal use?
Its this question that makes me most sad :(
The search for truth should live within us all for no motivation other than itself. -

You appear to already have a conclusion, and are now just cherry picking experiences, anecdote and misinterpretation to support it.

Policy based evidence making, in the wild- no longer the preserve of the government.

The bug in the system I believe my testing has discovered and wish to highilght is the train companies breaking of Part 36 - Offers to Settle.
*If an offer to settle is accepted and paid within 14 days (as in this case) the claim will be stayed.
PART 36 - OFFERS TO SETTLE
http://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/procedure-rules/civil/rules/part36#IDADB0HC
Hmmm, Part 36 of the Civil Procedure Rules. Yeah, quote that at the Mags Court in a criminal case. It won't help, but it'll give everyone else a good laugh. Your skillz as a fare-dodger appear to be matched by your skillz as a lawyer.

Whats your contribution to improving the railway network?
I've extensively researched the flaws of the current revenue collection system and now I am going out of my way to ensure the current process is correctly administered. What have you ever done?
Contributed £1.20 on a train to Gospel Oak. Hope they invested it well.

Given some of the more constructive posts on this thread.. namely the ones pointing out that I know little about the legal law being applied.
(criminal offense or a civil one - still not sure which)I decided full disclosure before proceedings went further was the best defense and rang the train company let them know of their error.
Apparently they no longer want to see me in court and told me to 'throw the summons away'
Disappointed with many of the usual confused ethical responses to this post.
It was just simple request for help about the legal status of out of court agreements.I still believe in the merits of my ongoing research.
Always happy to help out any other forumers if they ever happen to buy wrong fair, loose their ticket, forget to touch in, fair evade, schwarzfahrer

Did you pay them for this legal advice?Talk to the court, via letter. Or you may end up in even more shit.

Ha, from reading this thread I don't think it is us who are confused.
You obviously don't know your arse from your elbow so what lesson you were ever going to teach anyone by going to court I'll never know.

Best advice on here. Their admin system doesn't sound too hot so mistakes can happen.
Maybe they struggle because people waste so much of their time....

Well, as long as you got them to put that in writing. Oh, you didn't? Ooops.

Sounds like a plan. You are into doing things for academic research, lets form a trio.
You would not have a problem of taking resources from people without paying, would you?

All property is theft after all.
Not sure what this has to do with my train revenue research - which of course is a victimless crime anyway you look at it.
-
• #122
Out of interest how are you defining victimless crime here?
-
• #123
Clearly not the cunts who have to pay higher fares as a result of his victimless crime.

Due to a problem with local plumbing, a lot of stuff in E17 has been ruined by steam.
