  • Frankly?

    Me too!

  • Thanks @anidel

I regret it's too small for me... :(

  • Shame...today I got on my Olmo Sanremo Competition (see: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13088193/) after having ridden the F.Moser Leader AX and the Somec Elite SX during my commutes, and wow...this one really rides nice!
It's a Cromor tubing and I've specced it with GPM Tecno 410 wheels and a full DA74xx...loved it!

Now I don't want to sell it anymore :(

  • Does anyone want a free stem on the condition it will actually be attached to an Olmo?

It doesn't look right on my super light and I no longer own any others to put it on.

I have taken material off the front that has removed the 3t engraving - I rode with it for around 6 months and was fine, but would not feel comfortable selling it because of this.

  • I own a OLMO bike for two weeks now and im very happy.
I looks like this one is made between 1990 and 1993. But im not entirely sure.
Seems to be sold in Crema(Italy) by a trader named Scotti.

  • That's lovely.

  • Test

  • I don't even have the thing yet ( retired & living in the Philippines, bicycle bought on Ebay, shipped from Naples. Returning cyclist ( I'm originally Dutch...), could when I was young not afford stuff like Campagnolo, and cycles here are either Chinese junk or unaffordable and/ or always too small...
I ruefully admit I never heard of Olmo before. And I thought that an almost lifetime passion for cycling had taught me all one needs to know...

Anyway. This beauty. I would like the honourable members' opinions. 1992, supposedly perfect, my framesize (58 cm).

  • Always loved these bikes. First saw one way back in the 90’s when a guy came to our house to do some work and had it in our garage for a few hours. I was in awe!

  • That’s very nice, I love the paint job! Here’s another Olmo Scatto I built last year. The frameset is incredibly light. The rest of the build was done on a budget, I was very pleased to find a 2nd hand centaur groupset with carbon cranks. My friend loves it.

  • Been out on my Olmo this week. Picked up in Italy a few years ago. I'm not sure of the model, possibly a stardust? Carbon rear triangle and EM2 tubing, with record gruppo.

  • Anyone know much about dedacciai em2 tubing?

Have read elsewhere people say it wasnt all that long lasting.

  • Time I post my fat tire Olmo on here. At the moment it's nothing more than a long term project. It wasn't meant to be a project but after I bought it, all kind of weird things popped up: it had practically no decent cable stops. Left it in the attic, not really knowing what to do with it but recently I gave it to the frame builder that was to do some tweakings on my Panasonic. So now I have something to start from.

It's a frame with an unclear history. It has all the features to believe it's a genuine 1989 "50 th Anniversary" (except from the oddities I wrote about) so it's a bit a shame I had to ruin it. But so be it. Nontheless it's a great frame made from great tubing.

  • hi folks,

i got my hands on a olmo leader frame with the rare columbus MS Multishape tubing.
the bike has been used as a fixie and has been spraypainted in baby blue

the spraypaint has been largely removed. underneath there is the original la vie claire / mondrian paintjob.

the plan is to get the frame repainted. however i am not so fond of the original mondrian paintjob.

i tried to look for other original olmo leader (MS) paintjobs online but didn't find anything. it is generally really hard to find information on this frame with this tubing. found some other olmo leader but with different tubesets (air, ...)

i was wondering if anyone knows where i could find old olmo catalog pdf's or anything of that sort.

if i am unable to find something original to my liking i would just go ahead and get it painted to my liking.

as always thanks in advance, any advice is hugely appreciated

  • Impressive!

I'm sorry I can't help, but what a wonderful frame

  • I found this if it’s any help. Looks like it’s an original paint job. There’s a couple of other pictures of this bike on that IG account.

Edit: that bike is for sale on eBay, a few detailed pics on there too

  • Nice find! Definitely deserves a good restoration.

Here's a Leader (Air) I once restored from a shitty paintjob. Pearl white with decals made by Cyclomondo.

Had to sell because it turned out to be too small in the end :(

  • wow! the paintjob looks stunning! would you tell me where you got that frame painted? i like the white. could go for the same paint on mine. thanks
