The wise man, he say "The obstacle is only as big as you make it!"

Seriously though, it's just under 20% at the steepest part, and about a 500ft climb (height, not distance). But it levels out as the road turns around the hill so you get a bit of a rest after each steep section, which is nice!

Far too many nice names on that list, it would be a sin not to (unless it's raining, then in that case the nice names can pootle off south and I'll stay in bed).
I'm walking up ditchling. Lets you appreciate the view more. - Jonny

is this restricted to fixed? I think it should be, i've been on a few rides with a few geared riders and they seem to lead at a higher pace, if it's actually supposed to be about the ride do it fixed. Does any one else have any thoughts about this, aslo can we call it Nuts to Rapha 3?

-1 for fixed only. I won't be able to come if that's the rule :(
Anyway, it'll be a social pace so long as you don't try to keep up with Jonny up the hills! -

You can do it on Sinclair C5 for all I care, it's the taking part that counts
Plus I can't do it fixed, I have no brakes

What are peoples plans upon arrival at Brighton?
Anyone want me to look into pubs that serve half decent food with good bike parking?
-

jonny, which route are you going for?

My tourer weighs a ton, but iz bare comfortz. Your fixed bike is probably much lighter. If it's about the ride then I say it should be restricted to bicycles.

london to brighton ;)
pm me about this dude if you are really interested.
people can ride what they like. seb, no this ride has got nothing to do with saying nuts to rapha. if people on gears want to race off then that is fine. will see them on the climbs anyway.

i think the word is anal, kp
Using the low range on the triple and big rear cog then spun to the top. I did have a fuel stop in the bridalway before and just went for it. That was the second time, with that setup. Learnt to look close to front wheel and know its not that long, after the first time I did it always expecting it to level off but just got steeper. The third time I was doubled and road geared and was a just unable to do it. Now getting practice in to hopefully be able to do it road geared.
