  • I've got my size 40 DZR's and I LOVE them!

Look like "normal" shoes and pretty comfy to walk and ride in. Win.

Thanks for the heads up Scoot!

  • Yay! Glad you like them :)

  • I'm selling a pair of my Sidi road shoes Here's a piccy. Size 40, well used but looked after. Look Keo cleats on at the moment but they'll need replacing. £30 if anyone is interested.

Also, selling on behalf of a friend, a pretty much as-new pair of Spesh Sonoma. Haven't been cut for cleats yet so you could use them on platform pedals, spinning I guess. Size 36 (says UK5 on the box but that can't be right?!) £25 and I'll chuck in a pair of unused Pearl Izumi overshoes that fit. Piccy here:

Currently residing in Crystal Palace (can meet at HHV if anyone is going to Muddy Hell or Womens track sess on Sunday).

  • Opiumia - I might be interested. I'm in the market for shoes but have zero knowledge. Anyway, I've also sent you a PM.

  • Sadly Sidis were a little on the small side for Meloom so if anyone else is interested they are still available, so drop me a line.

  • I'm tempted but I'm normally 41 in Sidis so dunno if I'd get away with 40. How much hassle is it to take them to MH? Don't want to put you to trouble if there's a fair chance they won't fit.

  • Ah, dammit. Didn't se this until this morning. To be honest, if you usually take 41 it's probably best not to try a 40 - be too tight when your feet expand a bit when yo've been riding a few miles. Happy for you to try them if you are in Crystal Palace area though!

  • No worries, I think you're right. Plus I have six pairs of Sidis already so don't actually need another. Someone else should snap them up though, that's a bargain.

  • Hmm, these might fit me. I have short but super wide feet. Could I come and try them on sometime? I'm in HH.

  • Tricity - I'm sort of having the same issue; I'm being harsh with myself and retiring a couple of pairs that I just don't use any more!

Hats - yeah, no problem. In tomorrow and Weds evening after 7. Drop me pm if either of those evenings are suitable and I'll let you have my contact details. Cheers!

  • PM coming your way! :)

  • Selling some hot pink Women's Sidi Dominators:

  • ^^^ bump for the sidi's ^^^

  • I am a full blown newbie - and have fear of spds, I got some Chrome Kursk Pro's and they seem fine - they provide me the harder sole to get used to the feeling =)

  • Lidl are knocking out ladies SPDs for £9.99 from tomorrow. I've had a pair for 3 years now and they haven't fallen apart yet despite getting soaked through a couple of times.

Good as spares or if you fancy trying out this clipless lark.

  • Bumping this thread as I've got a new bike. I've still to buy pedals and want to go clipless. All advice for first timers on footwear & pedals appreciated (I've read back through the thread from the beginning) especially from Poots and others who've only switched over in the past couple of years.

My budget is very tight and i don't really want to she'll out lots of cash initially until I know I am happy.
I also noticed comments from Tricity Bendix that cleats weren't good for commuting, is that a popular consensus?

  • I didn't say that about spds did I? I've been happily commuting in spds for about 8 years. I might've said that about road cleats at some point :/

  • ^ numpty here didn't know there was a difference. ;). I do now,

  • Aha. Yeah spds are great and dead easy. Condor seem to quite often have cheapo women's sizes. What size are you after?

  • My usual shoe size is 5/38.

  • hey Shoosh I have some SPD pedals - unused but I don't think I have an cleats - that are platform so you can go clipless or wear regular shoes without switching pedals. you can have them if you like? they are very pink though.
I am really enjoying the platform/Time pedals on my bike at the mo, gives the option of wearing inappropriate footwear for shorter rides. I don't use SPDs, I just picked them up cheap and liked the pinkness.

Oh yes please!!!! I was looking at combination pedals initially.

  • I'm way out East but will be in London late Thursday afternoon or Friday, so can pick them up from you then? Will PM you to arrange.
