Hah no. It’s turned in to a bit of a saga :/

Nice. We ordered what we thought was a 180 / 270 / 90 rectangular cover. It arrived quickly, it’s a really well made thing, but - surprise - it is nothing like the shape it’s supposed to be.

Looks great but keep an eye on that acer, I’ve never had any luck with them in pots, mainly drainage issues.

Thanks - too little drainage? It's planted in a mix of compost, grit and John Innes no3, and the pot has holes in the base and a layer of pebbles in the bottoms of it. Plus it's stood on little feet to let the water run out of the bottom.
If I can find a suitable spot for it, may put it in the ground in a couple of years time.

Yeah too little drainage and the roots would rot but your mix sounds much better. We’ve planted a couple in the garden this year and I’m so paranoid with their progress I constantly take photos of their leaves to see if I’m missing early signs. Not helped by us putting them in sunny locations and chalky soil. I mainly bought ours for their autumn colour (the coral should go bright yellow, the other a vivid red) but it’s my first spring with them and they’re transforming daily... these pics are from the last four weeks...

having just googled a bit to check out root rot, it seems that I may have made a mistake in including some slow release fertiliser in the soil mix. Hopefully if I resist any further feeding, it won't matter too much.
Edit - nice pics - looking good so far!

These are round the corner from me, seem to do well despite the exposed south facing location

More clearance. Emailed a local licenced clearance firm to shift all the shit cos fucked if I'm sitting in the queue for the dump 5 or 6 times. Local scrappers have already had most of the metal away.

Blocks on top of the bin to reshape the wonky lid. That was another undergrowth find, but at least a useful one.

Hoping to get an 18'x8' number in here if I can ever get the retaining wall and fence sorted. Behold my amazing plan.

Very productive times over at stevoland. Top work!
So much potential in that space - it's going to be amazing.

Cheers. It's slow going. Either weather, childcare or ennui gets in the way. The ivy roots are a massive pain in the dick also. Have built up another heap so the next time I can get out I'll be doing a ton of shredding. But I don't know when that will be.

It's unbelievable how much roots of things there are.
When I've been doing lawn digging, I can't be sure which are ivy roots, bramble roots, bindweed roots or ash tree roots. The only ones I am sure about are nettle roots as they are bright yellow.
