Living fence panels. Anyone have any experience?

Is this a Japonica? It’s been in a pot so long we’ve forgotten, time to get it in the ground.

The neighbours' cats are always in my garden. They shit all over and I hate them. What to do?
I spotted at least three different cats this past week, and why do they have to walk around as if they own the place?

Get a BIG cat.

Right, I got a greyhound, a gun and a big cat. What now?
-
• #4211
Probably.
In other news, finally got the other trellis up after running out of time in mini-H's nap yesterday. Courgettes planted.
Went for a layer weedproof membrane as there's still a lot of the old weeds and debris trying for a comeback. Plus I had it in stock. Also found it's a useful replacement for stones/broken crockery in the bottom of small pots both being in short supply).

You put the greyhound in the garden. It chases the cats, wins and kills them. The cat doesn't shit again. Your neighbours might not be impressed.

Thank you all for your mattock suggestion. Broke up the clump nicely. Blooming hard work, respect to anyone that can do that all day.

Any blisters from the toe-protecting work boots?

Seem okay so far. I bought a pair of Site Onyx Safety Boots (in stock, cheap, claim to be waterproof) and they are much more comfortable than they seemed at first. The laces are rubbish though.

I've neglected my little mixed border over the winter had the best intention of mulching and dividing plants but that never happened. I'm back now weeding and planting.
Everything looks ok but this purple sage is in a spot of bother. Anything to be done with it?

My sage got absolutely savaged by snails. I cut it back and put pellets around it and now it's doing alright.

Yea the slugs have been feasting on it. I cut it right back a couple of weeks ago so this is new growth

I have a bit of a mystery plant that seems to be coming in from next door.
Anyone know what this guy is? It is clinging to everything and threaded through most of the trees at the back of my garden.

Looks like bindweed.

Used the plant Id app and it says Virginia creeper. It’s taken over the whole of my neighbours garden so going to have to keep an eye on it.
Tracing it back to the ground is so hard. The point it comes out the ground is a single sprout about 2mm in diameter. Crazy for so much plant.

We have Virginia Creeper on our garage. Once we had cut it back to sensible levels its been easy to control. It does grow fast though so you need to keep an eye on it but also looks lovely in the autumn when the leaves change colour so swings & roundabouts!

This morning I was reading up on how to remove bind weed. They recommended cutting it off at the base with scissors continuously so that it uses up its energy resources in the root system and dies.
Might work for that, which I don't think is bind weed.

Doesn't look like bindweed to me (I would know as I've got a garden full of it) -really characteristic heart shape to the leaves.
I pull it up whenever I see it and over a couple of years it seems to be getting less vigorous, but I don't think it's gonna die completely for a long long time.

Huh? Nothing like it.
Lockdown anxiety?
