Have my cleats slammed back and my saddle slammed forward. So the geo might work for me.

Is this the same bike? Even works in green and Campag.

Different rear triangle.

Funny geo though.
This is one of the reason why I went for SLX instead of aero, though if they make this new frameset into a track I wouldn't say no! ;)

You do know there are other brands of bicycle, Ho? Most of them don't have exploding seat tubes too...

Still don't know why aluminium frames are still produced in 2014... Plastic ftw!

Aeroroad geo is just a teenie bit longer and a 1cm lower at the front. It is not very long or low though (as the katusha bike shows).
I don't find this amusing :-)

Are you srs?

Not really serious, I can understand the lower manufacture costs but I can't really find so many strong reasons to choose an aluminium frame over a carbon one (or even steel) these days...
Ps: I still have and use aluminium bikes

Maybe stiffness? But we all have seen how easily this stiffness is converted to failure... Mine was just a thought

It's cheap and it still works. You could say the same about steel, which there are fewer reasons for using.

I'd go for steel if I want something that will be virtually usable forever, considering how easy you can fix it. For post-2010 my choice goes to carbon.
Of course alu will work... But all this stress cracks shows something I guess. -

no bike lasts for ever.

This is why I like it.
My current bike has the stem totally slammed, the top headset bearing cover replaced with a waffer thin tester version, and I even filed a few mm off the top headset split O-ring. I then run a 100mm stem instead of the standard 90mm for my small size.
With 'sportive' geo being all the rage right now. There arent that many bikes around I could set up to work.
Fair play to Canyon for being a relatively small Company but offering a wide range of geometrys and sizes.

I'd probably buy an XS in the Aeroroad.

If your putting a bike together on a budget then the decent alloy frames like those that rose, canyon and kinesis produce seem ideal. I don't know of any better frames for £600.

A £600 frame is already out of a "budget build" in my opinion... Just save a couple of hundreds more and be happier :)

And the only good part of paying that much for an alu frame is that you can have it replaced for free as many times it will fail...
-
• #446
This is true. Sadly the carbon frames you can buy for this price will have to be 2nd rate (and worse than the alloy option) or come from a 2nd rate retailer making support less likely.

My frame is half alu. I've put feck knows how many miles on it. Over gravel paths, up Mountains in the snow, along the coast during salty storms. Apart from being chipped to feck underneath, it rides like the day I first took it out.
I think I'd prefer pure carbon for the road. But my steel, alu, and Ti bikes all ride great, and seem to survive the plight of being owned by me. Its Down to taste if you ask me.
It seems like ages since this last came up........

A couple of friends have Aerororororoads - they say they are nice and not too harsh considering the aeroness. Funny geo though.
Not actually all that aero compared to the normal CLX...saves 17secs over the course compared to the CLX so almost pointless basically.

Sadface at Aernario.
The Merida could be a great buy though.

Such a buyer !!!
Look at the amount of layback and length of stem- fit doesn't really come into it.
