  • It looks great, but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the old and new version.

If I had a 5 year old aeroad Id be pretty happy to stay put.

  • well there is no difference. that is the same frame. the new one has fully integrated cables and deeper sections throughout

  • Spam alert: I have this cockpit for sale open to offers, also a Garmin Mount for these bars on its way to me which shall be surplus to requirement

  • though not so much the fork apparently. overall seems to think they are solid though. economies of scale i suppose

  • Yea, I didn't fully understand the fork issues, he said they still might have been in spec for Canyon but they replaced them under the crash replacement policy?

  • Everyone's tried this before even cars existed. The list is long. From concept art at world auto shows in every decade to more recently like BMW's C1's, to Renault Twizy to the worst, Sinclair C5. Amongst a thousand more. Pedal or otherwise, they've always failed.

  • Wow. Are they really taking that on!? Good luck to ‘em.

  • I have a little play in the fork/headset on my ultimate, it seems like the bung is too high as when I try tighten the top cap, the sleeve on the top cap bolt gives significant resistance before the top cap is even flush with the spacer.
What’s the best course of action?

  • New bike of course.

  • Ok, is the sleeve purely to prevent over tightening?

  • Not sure but you are two Allen keys and a small tap away from moving the bung down.

  • This feels like the high stake approach if it goes too far, I can’t imagine it’s easily retrieved?

  • I found the standard bung and cap that came with my aeroad was crap. I switched them out pretty quick.
Why not put a spacer in-between and see if that helps, then work from there. But really undoing the bung a little and pushing it further down isn't too hard.

  • As Aaliyah once sang, if at first you don't succeed, loosen it off and try again*

*maybe that's not quite the song lyric

@PaddleBoat is right, the standard bung is shit. I swapped mine for a Pro one, although other 1 1/4 options are available from Alibaba

  • Yep swapped to a pro with carbon cap too.

  • Well that went brilliantly.
There was a loud click noise as I was undoing and now the bolt for the bing neither tightens or loosens and the bung appears stuck

  • The bung is out!! Hazzah!
Does anyone in SE have a pro 1 1/4 steerer bung hahaha not sure I want to put this one back in for tomorrow

  • Anyone know if the Pro expander works with the H36 cockpit topcap/ bolt?

  • Good question. It's a chunkier bolt than the standard one I had. But I've not got the all in one bar stem.

  • The standard and the all in one use the same size top cap bolt and steerer bung.
So sounds like it won’t work.

  • so when is @HoKe getting the new Aeroroad?
