I have a canyon on its way, I currently have sram force 22 bb30 cranks with power2max powermeter.
I want to put this onto my new canyon. What do I need? Sram force gpx cranks and then swap over the power2max to these cranks?
Will sram cranks work with shimano, or should I just transfer over my entire sram groupset?
Cheers!

Something tells me that BB30 axle wont fit in the Canyon at all

BB30 PM wont work with GXP axle, but BB30 PM crankset might work with some adapter or something
-
• #1258
Yeah - BB30 axle will be too short for the BB86 (86.5mm wide BB), assuming its a true bb30 axle (don't know if Sram do a longer axle like Rotor do)

pretty sure I can put my current p2m spider onto a gpx crank
from memory you buy the same p2m for both bb30 and gxp

then you have a winner .. are you sure the BB30 crankset wont work in the frame though?
Good bike choice, let us know what you think of it. Are you going to offload ultegra and move to sram?

I have no idea, if it is possible that would save me money buying a gxp crank.

will do

potentially, I cant bear the thought of selling my caad10, so it will simply get stripped and I will either use the groupset from that or not..
Also - the full bike seems much better value than the frameset alone and it was available sooner and I also needed spare wheels for my winter bike, this may get my chris king wheels.

so is this using an adapter?
-
• #1265
yes, maybe 'adapter' is the wrong word but same BB .. that is also a GXP crank not BB30.

ah right, yeah. Having to buy a new bb is fine.
shopping list:
-SRAM BB86 GXP PressFit bb
-Sram force 22 170mm compact gxp crankswhats the consensus or sram cranks with shimano groupset?

Let me know how you get on with this, I have dreams on getting an aeroad with the intention of using my sram gxp p2m too. Seems to me there are a few options.
a) Remove shimano BB and install bb86 gxp pressfit BB as linked .
b) Possibly can also do it using the shimano BB already installed and a step down adaptor (like so http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope-bottom-bracket-truvativ-gxp-converter/rp-prod26899 ) on the NDS bearing, which would mean no faffing of removing and installing press fit BB's.
c) Use a better BB than the sram gxp one which may be prone to clicking etc, like the ones that thread together

are we certain that BB30 P2M will be compatible for GXP? Its not in Rotor's case .. 3D24 and 3Dplus have separate versions ..
Information: Please consider that the power2max Type S for Sram cranks is not compatible with BB386 Evo frames.

Can we change the title of this thread to 'Does anyone not own a Canyon?' there's a depressing number of them around these days...

have you considered a career in dentistry by any chance?

how confusing are bottom brackets??
the canyon is BB86, so should be okay. As far as im aware p2m dont sell a separate version for bb30 and gxp for sram force cranks

Look don't do frames my size. And I'm going to get a Wittson Ti custom made with cash from Attack The Pack as soon as it can afford it :)
Currently repainting one of them ultimate cf pros in the laboratory of dreams.... It had 15 canyon logos on it!
