127 for Catford and 128 for Bec

How similar are Cat and Bec? Just thinking about gearing...

Westerham cyclery is a good mid point to hang around, warm, good coffee/cake, bike storage ..

Pretty similar. A bit like Swains really, but steeper.

Even drag up to just over half way then they ramp right up for a steep finish. From what I remember I'd use the same gearing on both. I think Bec has a less steep start.

Just had a look on Strava, only 500 and 600m long! Weird.

Last rider for Catford is off at mid-day so I guess the presentation will be around 12:45. I'm gonna hang around for that so maybe I'll just see you at Westerham around 13:30 or something.

Whats the ideal time to spectate this? 10:30/11?

It's all just gurning up hills, but the faster riders are off later so from about 11am onwards. The crowds will have grown a bit by then too.

Hmm 60w more watts going up the Severn RC HC in Hinton today but only 1s quicker... Something amiss.

Headwind

Offset numbers seem normal. Weight is within 1kg of last year.
There was a headwind but it's very sheltered so don't think it would have had much difference. Think there was a headwind last year as well.

Freehub has been making some interesting noises but wouldn't think it could account for that discrepancy, could it?

Might try a different rear wheel for Wellow tomorrow.

Well my time from last year would have got me 9th today.. think I was 10th/11th last year?

Managed to find last year's times. Was actually 6s quicker. Still seems off. Will see what tomorrow brings.

Good to see you @amey and @umop3pisdn, shame that cyclery place closed at 1pm. I ended up making friends in a tea room while reading the Observer.

Extremely happy to knock 9 and 8 seconds off last years times. 23rd for Catford, not sure where I placed at Bec.

Wow - what great events and hills. You can see why in the early days even getting to the top was a challenge.

Big ride by @Borek who looks to have got 9th at Catford on 39/19.
