A very kind offer got me these MONTER TRUCK style tyres on my freestyle bike:

For those who dont know about 29ers, the front tyre is the equivelant to a 700x56c... And i comfortably jumped a 7 stair set on it. Roll on roof drops!

To me, that just looks like you're slowly turning a track bike into a mountain bike. Which makes me wonder why you don't just buy a single speed hard tail 29er.

Having said that, it looks like heaps of fun.

I've been offered a 2 year old Ribble Carbon with Shimano 105 5700 and various aftermarket bits for £500. It sounds too good to be true, shall I bite?

I wouldn't say that's too good to be true. It's a nice road bike, but nothing too special. Just check its been treated well. Enjoy the last bit of summer if you buy it.

He's a friend of my parents so I don't think he'd try to screw me. He's upgraded almost everything from stock so that everything that can be carbon is carbon and is also throwing in (for some reason) a flash gun that fits my camera worth £200.

It's well used but I think well kept - he's a bit of a weekend warrior and has done some TdF stages and that kind of thing. Only selling because he just spunked £8k on an S-Works.
