I'd take a cheap second pair of eggbeaters of someones hands, in order to run the same pedals on ALL THE BIKES!

Deal...ten English pounds!

About to spend a small fortune on a saddle so that it doesn't feel like my bits have fallen off and my leg goes numb after a long ride...am I mad?
-
• #1606
Picked up a new saddle and campagnolo seat post

@hudsoncjnr SMP?
-
• #1608
Yeah, fed up of tingly bits and my specialized saddle that I had fitted the bill in terms of a cutout but I wasn't a fan of the looks...
Open to suggestions on an alternative!

Though this Specialized one looks less flashy than the one I had

Still £130 though!

I have one of the china carbon smp copies, love it! Fantastic saddle, takes a while getting it set up, but they're fantastic! Which were you thinking of getting? @hudsoncjnr
Is that angle not uncomfortable? @fixie17

I've got no idea about saddles - I was lucky enough to find my old one in the parts bin at Links, and it was supremely comfortable. It also just so happened that the Flite had an almost identical shape, so I lucked out massively in terms of finding a good looking, relatively cheap saddle that fits me really well.
I think it really is worth trying out one before you buy it though, especially if it'll be 3 figures - Ped Revs have a load of test saddles, so they might be worth a look? Also better bibs might be a (slightly) cheaper investment?

Between this
this
and this
Thoughts?
Pedal revs sounds like a good shout in terms of a try before you buy!

• #1613
Heard good things about the spesh one, I've tried some of their other saddles (can't remember the name unfortunately) and they're comfy
-
• #1614
So.....these are the new shoes!
I've been told a Specialized Romin may be the way to go
-
• #1615
If you wanna test out the shape of the smp I'll happily bring my roadie to dandy or sommat, you can have a sit (it'll be too low) but you might get a feel for it
-
• #1616
Romin, that's the one
+1 from me
-
• #1617
Blimey - I didn't realise you were going for the shouty Mavics! @hudsoncjnr
-
• #1618
I don't think I've seen a pair of Mavic shoes I haven't liked, even the shouty ones are awesome
-
• #1619
Oh yeah, I'm not saying I don't like them, I just thought the black ones from upthread were the ones.
-
• #1620
Haha, neither did I - I got the black ones from Evans and they were too small so bought these ones instead!
I wasn't sure about them at first but I think louder is generally better with cycling gear right!?
-
• #1621
before trying the rolls on your concor, yes!!!
-
• #1622
The Concor is the culprit for giving me numb leg / gentleman sausage problems!
-
• #1623
Nooo brah, I mis-typed. Your concorde has a San Marco Rolls on it. Very cumf, a lot of people say!
-
• #1624
the modern concor (as opposed to you classic) is also very comfortable, it's the one i have on my langster.
-
• #1625
Ah I see!!
I'll give it a blast once I've picked it up and see how I go
I know someone that has some eggbeaters going cheap!
