  • Get Rikki's track ends off him and put them on the pink and then just leave them raw/clearcoat them - may as well make it obvious it's a conversion, and then it'll be truly unique, which is fun.

  • Have some steel track ends I'd sell for a tenner if anyone's interested. I was quoted ~£40 from Pat at Limit Fabrication for the swap job.

Ha, looks like Alex beat me to it

  • In house matey, cost wise tbc...I think around 75ish

  • In house as in Honda or Dandy?

  • Matt is going to hate me, he already said to me today "it's a good job I like you or I'd have told you to go away and come back when you know what you want!"

  • Dandy...though thinking about it Matt may have said something about Pat...I was only really worrying about the numbers, them having more than doubled from what I originally had in my head!

  • Surely you avoid the miche and BLB shite huddo?

My new toy. Not pictured: rad^max rainbow sparkles

  • Oh man I really wanted that :(

  • Haha that's fucking insane!

  • What's shite about it?

Not trying to start a debate, just wondered why you think that...

  • BLB stuff is overpriced for the rebranded Chinese stuff that it actually is. Miche cranks aren't awful but you can get better for the money and they have a reputation for being made of cheese

  • Ah ok, the other cranks I was looking at were SRAM

Still in two minds as to what to do, I might change a few bits about the build

  • I think Miche get a bad rep for being go-to "fixie" gear, but I've been incredibly impressed with my hubs - I've hammered them for coming on three years now, rain or shine, with no maintenance, plenty of cog switching, and they're still really smooth, no play, and are showing no signs of stopping.

That said, I have heard horror stories about Miche cranksets, but I've also heard horror stories about HED 3s, and certain Dura Ace seatposts, and Factory 5 chainrings, and loads of other premium parts, so who knows.

At the end of the day, all bike parts are innocent until proven guilty in my eyes!

  • I think that's the thing, I've never had a component of any type fail on me touch wood so I'll reserve judgement!

  • Ok...so the new plan may look a little like this!

  • I think it's more of a 'high-ranking forum member saw that someone once had a bad experience, therefore it's the worst thing in the world' thing.. That ^ is badass

  • I think thats the right look for the frame..

  • If you get Dura Ace hubs laced to Open Pros before me I'm going to kick off!

  • Haha!! I'll ask Matt to keep it quiet if I do go that route!! 😉

  • Have you still got the frames you said about Rikki?

  • I do indeed, I think I may keep the record and use it as a winter beater but the other is all yours. I just need to try and get it out of the shed (which is full of he remnants of a partition wall!) and it's ready to go. I'm working through until Tuesday so I'll try and do it then, possibly tomorrow evening if I'm feeling brave. I live round the corner from the Honda garage too so I can always drop it in.. By the way, I really want that S2000!

  • Sweet! What size is it do you know?

I can sort you an awesome deal on the S2000!

  • I'm going guess 56+? I can measure it when I get it out (lol). Aha, I wish, I've just bought one car, I'd be killed if I got another

Although I do fancy something totally ridiculous a la:

  • Will you be putting risers on the bike mate? I think it'd look great with some road bars on it.

  • Risers and the controversial UPS brown paint job is the plan
