Challenging music

I like Ween, but as you say Ween make pop music, hardly challenging. And I saw them first in the Godweensatan era.

I'm not disagreeing that it may not be challenging (although I could see why some people could find it grating) - just that it's "hipster shite."

As I said in my original post everybody has a different view of what is challenging. I listened to most types of stuff during my music degree and I have to say that I have a threshold - I can appreciate some really extreme music sitting down thinking, but I do not choose to listen to it whilst I run for example.My wife on the other hand only listens to really crappy radio and finds REM challenging........

I like Bartok - My brother loves bartok and can play some serious mean piano pieces of his.
My beef with Stravinsky mainly stems from having to write two compulsory essays on him, which counted as one fifth of my final years marks - I had to do it and it pissed me off that the lecturer only gave us the one choice to write about - I bet it was great fun for him to check

It's music people don't like.

Throbbing Gristle is a real challenge to listen to. It's just noise, there i said it.

seasick steve realy gets me motivated, seems to help me get in a deeper "zone" when im on a fast road and thunderbird comes on shit gets gnarly!

I studied at Hull and after my first year I knew that I wasn't interested in working in music any more but I finished anyway and have a degree that I don't use and a student loan to pay off.....it was great.

Neither. Stuff you like, but can't really listen to all the time.

^It's stuff I like but my girlfriend doesn't, and tells me I'm only listening to it to be "cool" and "elitist"

Tim Hecker anyone, not what i would call challenging. Some people might find it a little boring.

Some people find Music for Airports boring, but then some people like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.
