Wolf Eyes - Human Animal - YouTube
Love a bit of wolfeyes for that live horror special effects feel.
Saw them a few years back, it was win on every level. -

I think the meditative state has alot to do with extreme sound experimentation, as well as the physical state induced by such walls of sound (whitehouse being a perfect example of this)

Thought I'd resurrect this old thread after having feelings of wanting to start an industrial group.
Been working my way through Coil's discography and was starting to like how they were sounding, especially 'Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 2' then I got to 'Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil' and it's all just noise.

I think there is a massive difference between challenging music and just plain old shitty music. I find Mozart challenging but it's always rewarding to listen to.
Regarding what you said about Zappa. And yes I'ma bit late to the party but I always found Zappa aggressively anti music. However I do adore Cardiacs.....people traditionally find them hard to get along with? Any fellow fans here? And yeah I love some Krautrock also.

Wow, can't believe this was so long ago! There were some great sets, especially Eye and Mats'. Just a shame it wasn't at Camber Sands. Minehead sucks.Mats Gustaffson & EYE Nightmare Before Christmas ATP dec 06 - YouTube

Never got on with CTTS, saw them in 2004 at the underworld with the Murder Of Rosa Luxemburg and Trencher supporting. Picked up As The Roots Undo incase I missed something, there seemed to be a lot of hype, but I think like a lot of post hradcore from then was well over praised.
Trencher were fricking amazing! Youtube is not being my friend, but think this but more grindy as to what they did at the time.
Trencher - "Nightmares on Crack St." - YouTube
The murder of then did a totally chilled out set, we were expecting a heavy set, but got this instead so totally threw the hardcore kids off balance
the murder of rosa luxemburg - a b for a bee - YouTube
Two drum kits and lots of guitar finger tapping which worked really well live but CTTS were so bland afterwards.
Anyway.... Metal Thread ------------> CTTS far from challenging -

The Murder of....wow that takes me back, great band. I still listen Everyone's In Love every now and then, it was a shame that they called it a day when they were hitting a stride. Shaun went on to form Lovers who were pretty decent, wonder what he's doing now.

So I've not been very active in my purchases of new music - Ive only just found out secondlayer has closed (though I have a slight feeling I may have read about this a couple of years back but forgot)
Where is good for new vinyl? Web based is fine but ideally UK based. Looking for a mix if stuff like Corsano, Loren Connors, Yellow Swans, My Cat Is An Alien, sunburned hand of a man, comets on fire....
And any other good places for reviews / events promotion and stuff?
Maybe I'll have to start buying wire again. -

Check out Electric Knife records in Kentish Town for noise / experimental stuff, although its probably a little more niche than second layer was. Web wise Norman Records and Boomkat are both excellent.

Went to see Penny Rimbaud and Eve Libertine doing the new version of "Yes Sir, I Will" last night. A bit too hippy for my liking. And way too many Beatles lyrics.
