Chap on a hybrid, jogging bottoms tucked into socks, talks to himself alot, and likes swearing at cars for no reason. Smells a little bit funky. Shouted WANKER at a car for creeping towards the stop line at a red light, then looked at me for camaraderie and blurted something about car drivers.
Seen him pull similar shit a few times on the way up High Holborn. I'm seriously considering asking him politely to reconsider his combative attitude. Seriously.

The old lady obviously had nothing better to do... I would have just sent the footage to his company with a complaint, not worth ruining a nice day over sth like this.

Not sure if this is the best thread to post this in, but, WAC.

Serious question. How hard is it to ride like a plebeian around NY? It seems to be mostly one way streets.
-
• #9256
V.tricky to ride like a Plebeian, mainly as the bicycle wasn't invented until long after the fall of the Roman Empire.

Agreed. He missed no end of bus strokes. Weak fixed game.
-
• #9258
Clearly not fixed.
He doesn't do the fixed wiggle and you can hear the freewheel.
If he didn't have brakes he'd be able to keep up with the others and wouldn't have crashed.

• #9259
Ok. I didn't actually watch it.

Watched in terror this morning as a girl on a boris bike ignored the red man and bimbled across a crossing at Marble Arch that has a blind corner and was narrowly missed by a bus. She was completely oblivious.

To the guy on the shit fixie conversion this morning down Kingsland Road. I called you a stupid twat as it would've been less dickish to RLJ outside the old fire station instead of riding up onto the kerb to "avoid" the red lights before joining the road again with the oncoming traffic you were trying to beat...

What does that question even mean? Riding in NYC is different, you have to be way more agggresive, ride primary 90% of the time and expect everyone to want to try and kill you (not too dis-similar to London, however US driving tests are totally shite and most of the drivers are terrible).
One plus point - riding there is definitely a lot faster than london as the avenues tend to be alot wider, and often one way, meaning you have more space to manouvre through traffic.

Pretty broad demographic, that

There's a lot of them about.
In other news, to the guy this morning preparing to cross the lights at City Road through to Roseberry avenue (purple charge plug, green bellendousbern helmet)..... Yes, you will find people will call you out for undertaking as a rule, and particularly when you decide to do it between myself and a car. You will look like an utter bellend to the very pretty girl with the long blonde hair on the Pink sweet fixie. (you mentioned this to her as you crossed Southgate Road, at this juncture bellend status was merely a rumour, you then confirmed suspicions mere minutes later)
Her name is Sarah, she lives near me, and she too called you a c**t!
Enjoy your day bellend.

Is this guy doing cyclists any favours at all? I'm tempted to put him here on confrontational grounds:
There is a smelly little hole on youtube full of cyclists with headcams. CycleGaz holding king wanker rank among them (He is SUCH A DICK). There is of course legitimate reason for this kind of thing, but many of them are just trying to show off.
-
• #9267
That Scotch fellow is every bit as bad as Gaz.
Why must these people make it so much harder for those of us who just want to get about by bike without getting into squabbles? It makes me sad inside.

I've met gaz, he was the only cyclist of about twenty that breezed past me who bothered to stop and give me a hand when i got clattered by a bus a year or so ago, he is sound as a pound.
so fuck you.

His videos are a bit shouty. I get pull-outs on roundabouts, I ease off and let them go, blimey, get them in front of me. No need to ride up to the window going:
Nooooooooo!!!!!!
But if you absolutely positively have to have the most psycho cycle-cam bod in the world check out mr shouty bastard:
Its a 1 way system... - YouTube

From a sample of 3 short videos CycleGaz is nowhere near shouty enough. Maybe the 7min plus videos get LOUD.

again. fuck you.
Seconded. Seriously, fuck you.
What is it with some cyclists having such a beef against people who use cameras? It makes no difference to your life, if anything the convictions they help secure probably improve it.
magnatom He's a bit shouty.
