  • Came back today to find my bike locked between two ss bikes so stop to admire them then noticed my bike had been knocked over. Now I hook my bike over the bar above some wheel bucklers and leave a glove under it to stop scratches, I wouldn't have minded or noticed if whichever cunt it was stopped for 5 seconds and put it back... Annoys me because it's such a small thing and so easy to fix the person is just a dick

  • Fakenger on the Dolan Pre Cursa swearing at a pedestrian today on Drury Lane: your riding is weak and your manners are appalling. Try not riding like a prick, you're making us look bad.

  • dick move, but who's " us "?

  • If you have to ask 'u aint us'

  • I still don't know who is us though

  • In this guy's case, he was making the whole rest of the human race look bad. I don't really buy the 'collective responsibility' argument, but people are more likely to notice the bad riders than the good ones.

  • What's it with people texting or otherwise on their phones while cycling and not realising that their drifting into the middle of the road.

I dont even have to be texting, if I look down at my stem ala Froome I begin drifting although its usually into the kerb so not as dangerous.

I am left handed if this makes any difference...

  • A guy did the classic suddenly swerve right to make a turn without looking or signalling thing as I overtook him yesterday, it is lucky for both of us I actually pay attention and have quick enough reflexes or it could've been nasty, he was going fairly fast and obviously I was going faster than that.

He stopped in the middle of the road and shouted*, I couldn't tell if he thought it was my fault and was angry or if he was just scared/shocked but I hope it was the second as maybe then it could scare him into signalling from now on.

    *or maybe yawned

  • That first paragraph just read like a boast post.

  • :(

I don't know how to describe what happened without making it sound like boast post

I was smashing it because I needed to get home quickly and the way it happened he just suddenly did a hard right and even though I overtook wide if I hadn't swerved straight away I would've taken the guy out completely and flown over the bars myself and it would've hurt a lot when I hit the floor.

  • boast post ^

  • ^^^^ That first sentence could do with a full stop in there.
    deep breathe and read

  • I REALLY don't get why a cyclist would do that,

Because they don't know any better.

  • I am left handed if this makes any difference...

I'm ambidextrous which most of the time equates to no dexterity in either hand you've got it easy !

  • So you're ambilevous.

  • So you're ambilevous.

Not really , did go through a huge assessment in my recent school days about my dexterity or lack of despite the fact I can write with both hands , ended up with a conclusion of if it doesn't bother you too much we'll just leave it as it is

  • I saw some cycling today which left me agasp.
A guy jumped the lights at the Euston Road/Portland Place junction or more accurately plodded across them as though they were green.
I think he was looking at the light for the East Bound traffic and assumed incorrectly the light was red for Westbound which isn't the case as there is about a 20 second gap in the sequence.
It was a very close call with a car.
If you are going to jump lights don't jump lights across a road like that and if you do then make sure you know the sequence of the lights. FFS

  • Because they don't know any better.

And they are not on cycling forums .

  • ... suddenly swerve right to make a turn without looking or signalling ...

This happened twice today. The second time the guy was knocked of his bike.

  • KidneyPunch™ ?

    Wow. They do this nowadays?

As a southpaw and when schools used fountain pens as standard I was bullied in trying to use my right hand. It didn't work.

You can tell people like me as we write with our left hand above the line as it meant you didn't smudge the fresh ink. Once biro's became the norm it didn't matter any more.

  • ^I write like that too... I remember having to take dictation in english class would cause literal pain after about 2 minutes or writing. such hand cramps, much illegible.

Yeah they like giving people educational statements ( probably to do with the extra funding they receive) , I had to write with one of these and carry it around in my younger years which didn't exactly make me cool
