I wasn't on my bike yesterday so missed the sunny weather and numerous fairweather cyclists annoying you folks. Back on today and struck by the various fluoro fools pushing through to front at lights, undertaking and jumping red lights. oh dear

Suggestion being that I am the bottom one?
Near enough.
oops. Didn't mean to call you fat....but if I got a cheap laugh I'm OK with that.

The nice weather really brings the twats out onto the road, doesn't it? Yesterday's ride home included a Vespa moron who decided to overtake a cab turning out of a side road by gunning straight for me in the oncoming lane. Then, on reaching the bike junction at the Aldwych, an idiot on a red Specialized undertook to jump the red light, failed to anticipate the rider in front would actually stop at the red, so crashed into her, endo'd, and smacked me on the arm (!!) with his back wheel.
Twats.

That's motor vehicles, cyclists must give 'accord precedence', which basically means allow them to cross but don't have to wait until they've finished.
And others above....
Oh dear me. I have been shouting out local cyclists for no good reason. Often at the corner of Essex Road and Cross Street, or Essex Road and Packington Street. If it was you, sorry.

I always thought the rule was for you to wait until they have finished crossing, although I was taught that when I was driving. I had no idea it was different for cyclists. Nice! Now I can save precious seconds.

Rep to Brun for 'Flourogeddon'.
To avoid the nodders on the road I would advise you all to take up skateboarding in summer. You'll be a lot fitter than commuting on bikes.

Someone calling me out like that would be enough for me to take him up on the offer, generally those sort of mouthy fuckers back the fuck down when you call their bluff.
You think it your right not to be called out for crossing a zebra or ped crossing when the most vulnerable members are using it with the right of way?
-
• #6609
The pedestrian has the right of way when on the crossing - it does not mean that vehicles are not allowed to go through.
If a pedestrian is on a crossing, vehicles are not permitted to overtake other waiting vehicles in order to go through the crossing.
Listen to the zig zags mutherfuckers.

I think you misread, my understanding is:
- Ramaye stops at red to let child cross
- Bloke X crashes into back of Ramaye and give him an ear bending
- After setting off bloke (maybe X again) rides up alongside Ramaye and berates him for stopping.
- Ramaye tells him to go away
- Bloke doesn't go away
- Ramaye rides bloke into other carriageway
- Bloke (maybe same bloke/blokes as #2 and #3) rides up alongside Ramaye and threatens to punch him if he tries #6 again
- Ramaye shoulders bloke from #7 into the back of a bus
Cataduanes comment referred to the bloke's threat in #7, not the original incident regarding the pedestrian crossing.
- Ramaye stops at red to let child cross

London sounds like a flipping horror show when the sun comes out

Yep, pretty succinct summary by ffm, it was all the same bloke. It was a Zebra not a red but otherwise spot on.

It is.

That was my reading of it. Cataduanes was not having a go at Ramaye but at "danger to children" man when he threatened to get punchy.

It might be worth waiting two weeks to give Muilti Groove a chance to reply...

Me:
Cycling home yesterday afternoon from Dagenham to Isle of Dogs along the CS3. I was coming up behind a couple of chavs waking side by side almost completely blocking the cycle lane.
Just enough room for me to get past. On purpose I rode past one of the chavs and knocked him with my shoulder. I didn't turn round to acknowledge him. He whistled after me.
I was such an arrogant dick. I regret doing it so much. Simply no need. I just hope they don't recognise me and jump me sometime.
-
• #6620
Should have followed it up with a chav-style epic wheelie just to taunt them.
-
• #6621
Why the hell do you insist on riding on the cycle lane?
-
• #6622
I don't have the balls to ride on the A13.
-
• #6623
Fair enough.
-
• #6624
Do you ride on the A13 Ed? I've done it a couple of times but I get scared. Traffic goes a bit to fast and a bit to close for me.
-
• #6625
As long as Ed's in primary, he'll ride anywhere. Even 6 lane dual carriageways.
Geezer -> sense of humour failure.
