Is it time to start calling out bad cyclists?

Yeaterday on a really busy bit of dual carriageway I overtook some twat on a ropey full suspension mtb, riding with no hands. On his phone. Mug.

I like the image that he had a phone in one hand, and a mug of tea in the other. That is a relaxed riding style.

Cycling to work just now, casually ran a red light, as you do. A middle aged cyclist in full lycra was so outraged he followed me for a good 5 minutes shouting about how I give cyclists a bad name. Searching for a witty riposte, I summoned all my dignity and shouted 'fuck off leggings' 1 nil to me

Long johns are fine if you wear them under your clothes. They're not clothes in their own right, they're underwear.

Bibs are different, you'd only wear these on - or very near - a bike. So kinda the same as the "leggings are fine for ballet dancers" rule - you still have to put some proper trousers when you're not doing pirouettes/epic suffering up hills.

While I'm on a roll here, I'd say the same rule applies for wet suits. While someone may look very nice in a wet suit, if you're not diving or kayaking or whatever else people wear wet suits for, put some proper clothes on.

Also since when has it been acceptable for women to wear full running gear when going shopping? I've given up on people wearing trekkies when they've never even considered excersise in their life, but leggings and a sports bra while pushing a trolley around asda is just silly.

So the age of the person who was annoyed with an idiot who "casually" broke the law is as unimportant as their sexual preference, their religion or their ethic background. Why raise it?

If you can't see ahead then you shouldn't be filtering at all.

Not that I'm perfect, I've often filtered when I shouldn't... Just pointing out that undertaking wouldn't have been a better idea, waiting would have.

This gets confusing because we seem to have different terms for under clackers in Oz.

Suspenders are those things that women wear just before they bite the head of their male mating partner. Tights, at least in cycling, are a bit more family-friendly.
