I keep being called out for other cyclists by the people in my office- apparently as I ride a bike I represent all other cyclists.
So- everyone else, please stop being annoying, as this is spoiling my morning cup of tea.

I was confidently informed only yesterday by an ex-colleague that I was going to "lose a limb cutting all those red lights". I don't RLJ in any case but the most galling thing about it is that he doesn't even work here anymore and we were never friendly to begin with.

how?
By not letting it get to you, by ignoring them, by enjoying the ride.
High school should've taught you that.

Glide with grace through the traffic and generally be a zen motherfucker

To the douche going up New North Rd looking at your printed-out Google map while holding up traffic while cycling hands-free; you're impressing no one.

Dunno if this counts as a bad cyclist, but was waiting at set of traffic lights yesterday and saw i guy who was cycling one handed and the other hand on his mobile phone heading towards farringdon, just as i was about to caught him to him at the top of Clerkenwell road, he ended up losing control of his bike and toppled over on the floor with bits of his mobile phone on the floor, thank god he was ok, but really should be cycling and talking on the phone at the same time.

To the lady that berated a motorcyclist for signalling too late this morning, your argument was slightly broken by then charging through a Zebra Crossing with people on it, then pulling over three lanes without signalling.
I really should have invited her for cycle training.

I was nearly hit by a guy BRUSHING HIS TEETH WHILE RIDING the other day. He seemed pretty chill about it. Japan has much worse - phone use is commonplace!

^even if I actually got hit I could not be angry at a dude brushing his teeth while riding, that is class
I turned into the segregated, one way cycle path on Bury Place yesterday and was confronted with a guy speeding down it the wrong way, who then blew a whistle at me and told me to get out of the way.
I was tempted to stop in front of him but he clearly would've just smashed into me, so I settled for slipping past gracefully in the narrow space available and informing him as I did so that:
1: He was riding down the path in the wrong direction
2: He was a fucking bellend -

Riding with a phone is perfectly legal. I do it every now and then if I feel safe doing so. HOWEVER, riding like a cunt is riding like a cunt however you do it.

Getting so pissed off with this fat cunt who gets in my way every morning in his skimpy hi vis vest riding a shit mountain bike! Sail's past when I'm waiting at red's then just troll's me by cycling along at 10mph, stuck out in the road so I can't get past! WAC!
Rant thread>>>>>>>>

Is it a very narrow road? Or is he just amazingly fat?
-
• #3264
He is fat but it's more his road positioning, he sticks out so far!

From his road positioning he may have had the invitation

A considerable more amount than a motorised vehicles ironically enough.
No irony there Ed...
The irony lies with them being free to pursue a civil suit against the RLJ'er cunt, but no longer being able to pursue it themselves.
Un-fucking-believeable that someone can potentially lose a promising career for a mere grand or so fine.
You cost someone something like that and leave them with brain damage.... the courts should do their utmost to restore the victims life, to the detriment of the twat who caused the injury.
How on earth will they learn anything with a small slap on the wrist?... -

I had to use the Tube not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR TIMES yesterday. It was horrific. Now whenever I see a shitty cyclist I am going to think of all the throngs of amazingly shitty pedestrians on the Tube and will immediately feel calm and relieved.

Indeed, I shudder to think what the tube will be like during the coming Olympics mayhem...hell the system can hardly cope with just Londoners and the Home Counties invasion...thank god we all ride bikes :)

I think all the tube users I know are in full scale denial about the olympics, not one of them agrees with my prediction that it will be full scale on hell on earth down in them tunnels.
I think they've all been institutionalised. they know no better, the bodies will pile up at the bottom of the escalators as their peers queue ever onwards at the top oblivious to the crushing fate that awaits them below.

Oh man full scale denial sounds about right. I work in the London Bridge area and the intermittent times I have used the tube that station simply cannot cope at rush hour, to the point were they have to close access into the platforms to try manage the sheer numbers....add to that mix a multitude of tourists (plenty of them in the summer anyhow due to Tower Bridge, Borough market and HMS Belfast being in the vicinity) and Olympic spectators and we do indeed have an 'hell on earth' scenario.
I really feel for Tube users :(, hopefully a decent portion will come round to the idea of cycling on a regular basis as a consequence.

Not a bad cyclist per se, but riding home this evening I saw the most dangerous bike I've ever seen on the roads of London. It was some kind of folding mountain bike frame (the brand on it was "bi-frame" I think) and the rear wheel was at least 3 inches out of alignment with the front and when the guy riding it, braked the whole front end was shuddering violently. The most amusing aspect were the aero bars fitted to it, I dread to think how it handled if the rider was ever daft enough to ride on them.
Blimey, tommmmm was selling one* on here recently;

EVERYONE on the walworth and camberwell road this morning jumping the lights and obsessing about getting to the front. chill the fuck out. I had forgotten about all the aggro in london, been riding to scotland and back. Seeing people take risks to shave 5 minutes off a 6 mile journey seems a bit pathetic after doing 1200 miles.
Specifically want to call out a tall guy on a fixed kona with narrow risers who cut up a mother with two children trying to cross the road at the junction of albany and camberwell road at around 8.30am. The lights were red, so they stepped out thinking it was safe. you are a dick.
Go faster then them.
Swet less then them.
