Two cyclists this morning. A bearded guy in rapha who mounted the pavement when a stopped bus was in his way, and a lady in tokyo x morvelo bibs who undertook me, took silly risks to squeeze between skip lorries and buses, jumped reds and so forth and was giving it 100% in really inappropriate places.

I've been indicating left (in the van) at the stop line waiting for the lights to change for a minute while you've cycled up the road.
Don't fucking cycle up the inside of me after I've moved off and I'm about to turn dipshit.

Every commute without fail I'll watch cyclists undertake left-turning vehicles (or me), completely oblivious to the inherent danger of doing so, not to mention the very real prospect of their getting flattened (not by me obvs, I'm not THAT big).
Most don't even look to see if a vehicle is indicating. It's as if they think they have right of way in the gutter.

Although that isn't helped by a whole variety of stupid cycle lanes that take you up the left hand side of a junction.

Calling myself out, felt my back wheel roll over a stone and ping it out to the side, heard it hit a parked car, didn't stop to look if there was any damage - the sound tells me there must have been. At the time I told myself that anyone other than a cyclist wouldn't even have known it had happened and so wouldn't have stopped, probably not a very good excuse is it?
-
• #12584
Happened to me every now and then, never knew what I should do so just kept rolling. Anyone knows if you're responsible for any damage, or what to tell the driver if they blame you?
-
• #12585
This has happened to me as well, I also kept rolling.
IMO, stone chips on a car are part of life. If you did stop and examine the car, it's not certain that you'd be able to identify a chip that was from the stone ejected by your tyre, most cars more than a few weeks old will have some minor marks on them.
-

It's one of those things - stone chips from tyres pinging gravel are just a part of life - you just notice it more on the bike. The chances are it didn't cause any damage anyway.
-
• #12587
And it makes a secretly satisfying "ping."
"OMG hope that didn't do any damage because that made such a cool noise when it hit."
Admit it.

In insurance terms that used to be called an "Act of God" but they don't use that term any more. You're not liable.
(ETA stone-pinging, not slapping pensioners in the Odeon)

Highway Authority is liable as far as I'm aware. Driver has to take it up with them.

To the fixed gear rider with the yellow bag with a yellow balloon attached it that tried to argue with me earlier on Oxford St over (as far as I can work out) not cycling aggressively or quickly enough, you're a liability.
As I pointed out, Oxford St at rush hour is not the place to smash it. Nor is it the kind of place to undertake buses, carve up pedestrians and then jump a red light, not that that stopped you, you tuber.
I have no idea who you are, but you look very 'on here', so you should know you cycle like a weapon and I still have no idea what your point was.

The guy who tried bombing down the really really narrow path in Greenwich by the river, for whatever reason the way around on the proper cycle route was blocked so fair enough got half way(so did I) but then came up behind a group of 8 or so people and it just made sense to dismount for 30 yards. But yeah watched him almost take out an old lady as he passed her since she was the least able to squeeze against the wall for him to pass. Could hear a sigh of relief when I dismounted.

Two American, Tattooed up, fixed riders in Regent's park between 5-6pm this evening. Maybe one of them was a girl. Bright lycra. Absolutely pinging it around traffic/queueing cyclists through the Red lights by the mosque, and again at the next pedestrian set, and the ones after. When asked why he was riding like that? replied, 'Cause I'm a stupid American' After I mentioned he's making everyone who regularly ride the park look like cunts, tarring with his shit-brush, he took his helmet and shades off making the point he had grey hair, and was an old fuck and asked if I thought I could possibly teach him anything? FYI, I'm 34, and have been winning bicycle races for over 30 years. Then said I best get going cause the conversation wasn't going so well for me. Haha! Good americano response - if I can't win in a gentlemanly debate, I'm gonna BOMB THE SHIT OUTTA Y'ALL.
FUCK-TARDS

Wow! good save by that hire bike rider.
-
• #12597
So glad the rider was okay, but it looked like the other deliberately hit them. Either a gross misjudgment of road position, or vengeance for an earlier misdemeanor? Cuntish either way.
-
• #12598
Holy fuck!
-
• #12599
Agreed. Looks like a hit to me, he leans in way before any vehicle is alongside him so his body position not consistent with misjudgement of road position. He is not constrained and could go wide to pass safely.
No point speculating what may/may not have happened out of shot to wind the rider up, I just hope they see this so that they can see how close they came to putting another rider under the wheels of a truck. Not cool.

Unbelievable, that rider needs to get found and beaten the shit out of.
Undertaking cyclists. Please JUST STOP!!!!
