Maybe you're taking her statement too literally?
"I thought I was dead" is a perfectly well understood way to describe mortal danger.

Surprised this hasn't made it here yet, been popping up on social meeja a bit today:

Is this the same junction as that other fella in the video here a few weeks ago, setting off too soon and clipping a truck?
What an odd one. Not like he was heading for a gap. What was the plan?
-

(I think he's trying to skip-stop, but because the road is greasy from earlier rain, it's not working quickly enough)

The guy involved comments on YouTube suggest this front brake cable snapped, which didn't help on the grease surface.
As for the title of the video from the motor biker.....
Schadenfreude...?

Manchester. Been to that maccy ds. Was good.

He looks like a single speed one brake fool. But I'm speculating.

Rider was blatantly going for a red, showing no signs of even trying to slow for the junction (apart from pissy too-late skid-to-bus). He's lucky it's just his face that hurts.

Some fat lfgss twat on a polo bike going round richmond park after work saw a friend on the other side of the road and did a u turn without indicating or shoulder checking. If it had been a cab driver I would have reported them to road safe.
There was another cyclist just behind who almost ploughed into the fat fuck. But had the skill and breaking ability to stop just in time.
Anyway I'm glad he wasn't driving a car because then I would have had to roadsafe myself (wonder what happens if I did that?)... I was the fat fuck. Sorry to the cyclist that almost ploughed into me and the car behind him... Momentary loss of concentration... Going to go outside now and clean my bike in penance.

Cycling down The Cut this morning and stopped at a zebra crossing to let someone cross from the left - as I was waiting some twunt roadie shot through as a different ped was crossing from the right.
Next set of lights in my most passive aggressive tone "Now that wasn't very gentlemanly of you when a lady was crossing" -

THis weather is bringing out the dickheads. To the belter that undertook me in Stockwell: I will carry out my promise of my size 11 in your top tube if you undertake me past parked cars. It is my right not to ride in the door zone. If you want to go faster pass me on the right. Otherwise if you get taken out by a car door, you send me flying into the path of overtaking vehicles. Capisce, knobler?

In fact the collective for all of these people will be Krugers short for Dunning-Kruger effect
Those with the least skills overestimate their skill set for a given task and those with tend to underestimate themselves. Though those that undertake a minimum coaching in the skills for said task quickly establish a realistic re-assessment of themselves.

What have you got against Dunning? He did half the work. Are you just going to pass him over just cos you don't like the sound of his name? He studied hard to get where he is and you just toss him aside like so much rubbish.

How about "Dungers"? It's confusing and doesn't mean anything to anybody, but it's snappy and it sounds a bit rude, which is what counts.

The Voodoo riding belmmachine who insisted on riding like an utter gimble all the way from London Bridge to Holborn. Undertaking at speed, pedalling manically in a stupid gear and swerving violently in front of other riders with inches to spare. Also completely unresponsive to verbals due to headphones at full volume.
Getting a bit sick of this wannabe racer shit tbh - in response to an earlier post, yes, he was going full Kruger.
Sorry, pls direct any concerns my way. The article showed the crappiest of cycling behaviour but I did find it odd that the mother might have thought a screaming child was dead. I have three kids and have experienced two moments of utter nightmare parental dread of sudden death - in both instances I would have been massively reassured to hear screaming.
