  • Go-Cycle riding nubbin this morning, drifting the full way across the lane without so much as a glance over his shoulder, pushing me out of the lane, and into the next one in front of other people. Did it to him to demonstrate what he did, and he told me I was being dangerous. gives up

Annnnd myself, for emergency braking for a pedestrian crossing. Caused a little pileup, no need to brake that hard. Wasn't paying attention (was still thinking about Go-Cycle man). More zen needed.

  • A pet peeve of mine is people trying to sneak through the red light heading west on London Wall into the cycle path that leads south on Wood Street.

Particularly annoying as their light is the next to go green after the southbound Wood Street one - they leave anyone coming through broadsided across the lane while two lanes of busy morning traffic starts to hurtle towards you.

Had a guy on a hire bike try it this morning:

    me: Oi!
    him:
    me: OI!
    him:
    me: What are you doing?
    him: Same as you...
me: It's a red light dick head

A bit shouty for so early in the morning, but it really is a dick move to pull and leaves the person you are cutting up in a very compromising position.

  • Since they've made Moorgate one way due to Cross Rail, you get loads of cyclist now cycling down the pavement in order to get to London Wall, some dude this morning shouting at people to get out of his way. Also why o why have they decided to put a cycle lane on Coleman Street just off of London Wall. Have witnessed a number of crashes involving cyclist with both Peds and Cars. It's a one-way street for cars, so more people look one way not expecting a cyclist to appear, also there is a road halfway down. Last night a woman was bombing down the road only to be halted by the side of a cab. Not sure who was to blame but it could have been a nasty accident.

  • Great face/moves by this guy

  • Absolutely no need, that knobber leaves a trail of pissed-off folk in his wake, peds crossing the road at a junction have priority, you don't ride at them shouting "IDIOT." I hope Jeremy Southgate treads on a bit of Lego in bare feet.

  • HAHA! This guy must have some real issues.
He clearly hates EVERYONE on this planet, he's just waiting for the chance to shout it out loud.

  • He seems to be portraying exactly the same attitude that gets some car drivers a bad name, ie I want to travel at maximum speed and anyone that gets in my way is an idiot and must be told!

  • And I must punishment pass everyone, despite getting annoyed when someone (in a car) gives me a punishment pass.

  • IDIOTS!

So much anger and yet only one proper expletive; doing it wrong.

  • What a BELM.

  • Wonder what happens when you use the roadsafe website to report cyclists?

At least in this case 'lack of evidence' won't be an excuse. I'll keep you posted...

  • I'm sure David's already on the case to offer him cycle training. Most of these 'incidents' occur because he generally travels much too fast for the conditions. I gave up counting the mistakes he made after about two dozen. I think he is justified in being angry in two situations (not that I paid too much attention to what was happening towards the end of the video, and there may be others that are defensible), when he gets overtaken by a very fast driver, and when he is undertaken by a motorcyclist in setting off from the lights. The rest of the time, he is either partly or wholly at fault.

  • such rank stupidity & impotent rage.

    i like him!

  • It's quite simple, if you study the video very closely you'll notice that the cyclist in question has no steering capability.

It appears that his cockpit/forks are directly welded to the main triangle thus he can not use a bicycle to its advantage as one of the quickest and most agile modes of transport in a city.

He can't turn to avoid possible collisions that wouldn't be possible collisions if he turned his handlebars very slightly a few seconds before he shouts "IDIOT" through someone's window.

I'd take the bike back and sue.

Tl,dr/ missed the point of cycling, massive killjoy, get a bus.

  • We need to set ChainBreaker on him, he probably needs a (tight) hug.

  • I reckon he has Tourettes.

  • Sadly, Jeremy Southgate seems to have realised that displaying evidence of yourself being a massive arsehole on the internet isn't very clever and has removed the video.

Wonder if he's also realised that it's better to not be an arsehole in the first place?

  • Lots of strange cycling out there at the moment. I came across a couple of twats with those lights that project a bike onto the road a few feet in front. Fucking dangerous things, they want banning and fast.

  • Yes, these are the kind of fucking idiots taking over the streets. I see this kind of behaviour most nights now. Too many people without a clue if you ask me. All the gear and no fucking idea

  • I've seen a few of those around. The irony is, it was really difficult to figure out which bike it was coming from.

  • Very off putting. As a cyclist, you need to rely on your peripheral vision moreso than on foot or in a car. Just about to change lanes and you see something on the road and you cant tell exactly what it is and where it is coming from forces a complete change in momentum. Who can I contact to try and get them banned?

  • nigel farage.

  • Yeah they're awful. I really need an erratic laser beam dancing around my front wheel please.
