What about drilling the fork then?
If mine isn't, is it possible to do it? -
• #128
Yes, but you need someone with a pillar drill to do it properly. I personally would use a second fork instead.

I personally would use a second bike

Go explain that to my wife...

Nice one DMC lovely looking bit of kit.
Now, where do the star-nuts go then ?

Mad idea but if you're running a threadless headset you could use a longer bolt through the top cap screwing into a tall plug at the bottom. The stem would retain the headset load whilst the rest was being faffed with and a two inch tall bottom plug would probably spread the load out reasonably over the crown and the lower steerer tube.
Can draw you a picture if you like.

A neat solution but £68?! Crumbs.

How thick is the plate? I realise it has to be thick enough to withstand braking forces but I reckon a lot of track forks will struggle unless you fit uber thin tyres...

Apply the old ball bearing in the drop out trick.

My Quinn won't even fit some 23s under the fork crown. If I had one of those I'd have to run on the damn rims.

That's why my design looked a bit more complex than the japanese variation.
-
• #143
Much like many engineering solutions, whilst the UK has argued and talked about it ad nauseum, the Japanese have simply designed and made it.

I've had drilled track forks that flexed weirdly with any hard braking. For trad steel forks, surely front brake = oval blade?

Has anyone tracked one of these little gadgets down? I'd imagine they'd be quite popular since they're less cumbersome-looking than the clamp brakes. I guess the clearance will be the main issue.

They're available from NJS Export.

Cheers for the info!
Hot Damn there are some great paintjobs on that website.

I don't suppose you know where you can buy those spacer washers?
It would be interesting to compare the performance of one of jetskis devices to a clamp on. Clamp ons are a good solution for riding to/from the tarck but on as a long term solution they are rubbish and offer fuck-all stopping power.
