Well it looks like a joy to ride with those DDs, that much is for sure :) Maybe you could get it wrapped in black vinyl? It would also help to protect the frame if you're planning to ride it during winter.

I think I'll be fighting a losing battle to protect the frame beyond the top tube as it's going to be my new work bike, so it's guaranteed to be getting abused regardless. :)
With regards to the component choice...
Smud saddle is my favourite saddle apart from the infinity seat.
Supertype seatpost is purely because I wanted a layback, and I've had a couple of supertypes before with no issues. Plus they're available pretty cheap.
Chris King headset is always a given for me no matter what bike it's on.
Factory five stem is the only decent solution for 31.8 with a threaded steerer.
Nitto risers just because they're simple, plain and were cheap enough.
Chub hubs because I got the pair brand new, unused, for £100...too much of a bargain to pass up.
I've had them before and like the quality and the looks.
I was planning to go with Mack's to keep the Polish theme going... But as mentioned... For the money the chubs weren't going to be beaten.
Carbon rims were actually easier to get in the required sizes than aluminium. And not bad at all price wise.
Time atacs are also a given as I've been using them for over 20 years.
Sugino 75 DD's simply because I was bored of Omniums but had no desire to go back to square taper... And for £235 ish quid were as cheap as I was going to get them new.
Factory five lattice ring because it came up second hand on here at the right time, for the right price.
YBN 410 chain because it's become my favourite chain over the last few years.
Maxxis refuse 28mm rear because it's my most trusted tyre for fixed street use.
Continental gp4000s 2 on the front because it's about the best option currently available in 650c size.So basically the entire build was based around components I trust, that function well, and that could be had for a good price... But luckily, I love the look of them all too. :)

That's this classic I take it?
-
• #2405
Yeah that's how it was last built... Which I'm sure the 'purists' will prefer. But thankfully I don't believe in the 'this type of frame should be built with these types of components' way of thinking... 'Italian frames should have campag', or 'Keirin frames should have njs' etc... I build bikes like I build bags, where I choose what I consider to be the best functioning or most appropriate component/material for each individual part of the build in order to achieve the result I want from that part... Irrespective of how well it goes with any other part... And yes, before anyone says it... I build them slowly! :)

@BRP I really really do not like this stem, finding one in not oversize can be a good start IMO

I really really do not like this stem
The whole bike make as much sense as this one, picking on the comedy stem seems pointless.

Thankfully I really really didn't build the bike for you. And I really really think it would be really really hard to fit oversized bars in a 'not oversize' stem wouldn't it. :)

Makes perfect sense to me... It's a frame 'I' like, built with components 'I' like, to be ridden by 'me'.

Makes perfect sense to me
My snipe was really at Gaston's nit picking, not your odd taste :)

<3 Wow Cool my friend, sorry if I did not make myself understood and you take it bad.
English is not my native language...I'm just trying to help you Bro, but apparently you like this OS Stem, it's Ok for me, cool : )
You did not post this bike so that the people find it beautiful? Naaaaa
So why are you Fuking here? To see the Image saved on a cloud in case you get it stolen?Honestly and in all friendship, do not make me shit with your susceptibility, if you want to be loved prove yourself humility, reserve or vulnerability and relieve your frustration by screaming in a pillow.
You can also find a riser handlebar in 25.4mm diameter, can't you ???
Cheers and welcome here mate.

You're about eleven years late for welcoming me to the forum... :)
But your little outburst certainly started my day off with a smile! :)

This isn't Instagram, he just wanted to show us what he's up to, whether we like it or not.
Here's the thread charter in case you've forgotten it:
I Thought it would be a good idea to document all the Lo Pros on the forum. If you have a Lo Pro, lets see it.

Relax man, sometimes it just takes some time to develop a taste. Gaston was giving you a good advice, you might agree with it or not but I assure you that here (on this forums) you’ll get a lot of friendly advices like that.
And here’s one from me: this frame has really unique and rad paintjob so I’d keep it that way and also remove the top tube protector. You won’t need it if you don’t trash it around badly.

Hahaha... Thanks for the assurance. A 'newbie' like me needs all the advice he can get.
Silly me thinking I know anything about what I need or like! :)

I guess what I could do instead is to go and wrap some form of cushioning around all of the lamp posts, fences, and street signs I have to constantly lock to?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :) -
• #2423
@brp - if you could mate, that would help alot of us out.
and.... while youre at it, could you also replace the wider guage lamp posts that my dlock doesnt go around to the narrow ones please. Legend

Fuck... I just saw a new business opportunity! LAMP POST PADS!!!
It's a special pad that you carry in your bag, then whenever you need to lock up to a lamp post, or fence post, or any post of similar dimensions, you can wrap the protector around it, velcro it in place, then when you go, just take it off again, put it in your bag, and you're good to go!
Man I can't believe I never thought of this before!
You guys are the best!!! Xxx -

duh! obvious innit :))
and WAY less faff than a top tube protector.
i think you just struck oil (black gold for you, sir)
Thankfully looks aren't the top priority for me*. :)
*apart from preferring black frames
