Mobile Phone Photographic Competition 2010-2011

Competition segment for August is now closed....awaiting judging results.

is this the end of the competition then or will there be a new set of monthly themes?

Good question wibble. I have been mulling it over, and its true, as you have implied, the competition was created with a year's duration. Once the results are back for the August segment, that's it - the compo will be over.

So, do I continue it for another 12 months? At the moment, I'm not certain. It would be great if someone else decided that they didn't mind organising one. The way this one has been run so far, would be a pretty good template for another. Results for August won't be in till tomorrow, so I'll have an answer by then.

It has been a great little venture and really adds a new dimension to the awesome photos that we get to see.

Also, I've decided to let someone/anyone else, pick up the reins, and run a competition for 2011-2012, if they want to.

I'd like to thank evryone that took part, as you were all great. Specially, I'd like to thank the judges that agreed to support the competition initially. What many of you don't know, is that the judges had other business concerns, and were not often available, and therefore, for more than 80% of this competition, there was only one judge that would give their time, and that was MrSmyth. He may not like me drawing attention to it, but without his very generous assistance and time, this competition would have been defunct. Thank you very much MrSmyth.

As well as all the individual monthly winners, there was also I believed, a need to identify the best overall image.
