I generally agree with this.
People lamenting that there's no good music these days or a particular decade was poor just aren't bothering to look.
-
• #253
Errrr....can you read? Where did I say "there is no good music these days"?
-
• #254
I was also talking about the current crop of pop music, there's plenty of great stuff around elsewhere...
-
• #255
Loads of decent music about...
Grime is shite
-
• #256
I'm suggesting like most things lines have gotten blurred and there are higher grades being produced.
-
• #257
Loads of good, current pop music, too.
-
• #258
I wasn't referring to you/your post, just agreeing with the general sentiment of MultiGroove's post.

Can we all agree that the majority of the 90's was wank?
Particularly the whole 'Britpop' shite
Blur
Oasis
The Verve
PulpEtc, etc....
ALL wank

Already enjoying 20 albums this year alone, music's better than it's ever been because more people can create and distribute it
-
• #261
Apropos of nothing there
-
• #262
You're better than this
-
• #263
Can we all agree with me
lol

• #264
Lloyd Cole " Forest Fire"! do i win 5 pounds?
-
• #265
The concept of Britpop was wank, the 90's weren't as a whole. Although it is subjective....
There was tons of great music around and there's loads around now.

• #266
Bloody love Blur
-
• #267
I'm coming around to quite a few bands I didn't listen to at the time - Damon Albarn's musical output since Blur has made me go back and listen to them. I'm enjoying most if it!
-
• #268
Blur = wank, middle class, art student, faux cockney mockney shite
Song 2 was quite good, that's about it
-
• #269
Yeah, middle class art students cant make music. obviously.
-
• #270
Mockney??
-
• #271
I liked Oasis, Def Maybe was a great album - first three singles sublime, including one of if not the best debut (pop) singles ever made, and a great frontman (until the press started)
-
• #272
Really though? Oasis are absolute horse shit
All IMO of course x
-
• #273
Oasis were one of the best bands in the world for a short while
Shame they didn't record anything in this period.
-
• #274
Woah woah woah, Kid A and Amnesiac are amazing records!

As Elvis Costello said:
"Arguing about music is like dancing to architecture."
I'm not lying when I say I would rather go to an Adele gig
