Hehe, i'm sure that came up in suggestions but was quickly dismissed! We must've gone through every stupid bike shop name we could think of, but essentially i guess we wanted something simple and a little bit classy. Reckon it's a winner!

Hmm, I might have to pop in again.
I bought a trek mountain bike there in 2002, when I was a student at Westminster on the other side of the road. I didn't really go back after I graduated...

First time on fixed gear in about 12-15 years, must remember to keep pedalling, almost ate tarmac a couple of times :D
The bike is awesome BTW, i will defo recomend you to freinds and colleagues, will get a picture up in the bike porn thread too
Thanks again

try 'current projects' instead.back on topic, when I worked down the street the store was awesome, so good luck in the future.

Yeah we will, the shop is already signed up to it and most of the bikes we sell are through this scheme!
Great stuff, good luck and let me know if there's owt we can do to help.
Thanks very much! It's great to know we'll have a good deal of support on this venture. As I say, changes won't be immediate, we've got some exciting plans!

All the best guys, I'm happy that your still in W1 as otherwise it would be nothing but chainstores or Velorution (nothing against them but don't cater for the masses).
So, there's gonna be some changes going on at Cavendish Cycles in the coming months, as myself and my 2 colleagues, Will and Tom, are buying out the current owner.
I know a great deal of people on this forum have frequented the shop in the past and some of you who've been in recently may well have noticed that our stock levels have been poor if not somewhat non-existent, and to anyone who we've let down i can only apologise. Unfortunately we've been at the mercy of the current owner, who for some reason didn't seem to willing to put in the money to keep decent parts in stock. So when offered the chance to take over we've jumped at it.
The most notable initial change will be the shop name, it'll be changing to Fitzrovia Bicycles. Although the Cavendish Cycles name seems to be quite well known, we're also keen to mark a fresh start. It may take a few months for things to change to how we want them to be, as funds may well be tight for us to start with, but bare with us and we're hoping to make the best of it! We're seriously looking forward to making some exciting changes, and no doubt we'll keep you all posted on developments. Wish us good luck!
