corr that's alot of bike for £150.... i really want a singlespeed dirt bike, but no space and my p3 is vertical dropouts so for the sake of a chain tensioner i reckon i might as well keep the gears.

I 'gave away' this bike in my first year of uni:
I got there and realised I'd left the keys to my lock at home. Thought that in my campus, in a covered bike rack with CCTV, put next to another bike as if it was locked up and with no-one around, it would be ok for five minutes while I ducked into the library and printed something out. It wasn't.
I'm still gutted about it five years on. Saved up for ages for it, had some good times in the forest, and I still think about it everything I come back to my parents' place.
Obviously the fault lies with me for not locking it (and the cunt who stole it), but the 'security' people at uni were useless. They told me the CCTV didn't really show anything, but wouldn't let me look at it. If I'd been a bit more savvy then, (apart from not leaving my bike unlocked), I'd have scoured Ebay and Gumtree and checked round Brick Lane and local bike shops. I still have the key for its Pinhead locks. I hope the thief cut his fingers off trying to saw off the bolts. Also had these in my less-than-illustrious bike history, none of which I particularly regret selling - apart from the money I could have made on the Raleigh
The Peugeot was a pretty standard gaspipe jobby, but it reawakened my interest in cycling as more than a means of getting around, and led me to these and other forums, so I suppose I owe it a lot. It paid for my new Holdsworth as well.
And an orange Create, that I was too embarrassed to take a picture of. Terrible terrible bike, in three months I snapped two cranks, a pedal and about 8 spokes. Absolute piece of shit. -

that second bike, i think someone at my college owns it. was the buyer a young blonde guy?
-
• #134
No, a guy who was probably about 30 with dark hair. He's at Goldsmiths though, is that your college?

I'd call it a hobby gotten out of hand, because (it is not very profitable and) if it was my profession, I would have had to move to a shed/garage/hole in the ground to live in ;)
