  • Is it going to be all 831? Or just the stays, tig welded to 953?

It will be a new 931 stainless. Which can be used with 953 or on it's own we usually prefer all tig with stainless but with this it may be lugged. more details will follow.

  • Not sure yet on geometry, as for forks Reynolds are working on a 953 stainless blades (they also want to me test build those) and some other tasty bits, I post more on that when I can, I don't know yet if they will be available for this bike.

  • can you make tig welded stems?

  • can you make tig welded stems?

I could, but no I don't maybe one day, I think we did a few years back though.

  • drats, after one made

  • Hi Rourkie, welcome to the forum.

Can you do a carbon weave effect ? visual play on words so to speak

    (with some bare/just lacquered areas..?)

Out of interest, have you tried fillet brazing stainless? IIRC Dave Yates made some successful test joints for Reynolds using standard SIFBronze which everyone said couldn't be done.

Colourwise, dark metallic grey with Rourke logo left as raw stainless would be ace. Doubly so if the stainless is mirror-polished, though I understand that's a royal pain to do with 953.

  • Black with baby blue and white go-faster stripes?

Need something to match my cap :)

Yes please! Oh wait it doesn't work that way.

  • Not after a respray but can't get enough of this colorway...

With some bare stays etc would look mighty fine.

Just say you used a Wispa for inspiration.

  • red bikes are faster, and red Rourkes in 853 are fast as fuck:

  • my singular needs a respray - what do i need to do to wow you i wonder...

  • how about a traditional breezer paint fade from front to back? i like two tone paint jobs personally - so why not dark grey to the polished. and go with the masking of the logo anyway - i think an edge can look nice. the front badge should be stainless too of course to match the rear end, and paint fork and stem in the same grey... that would be bad ass. of the course the seatpost should be stainless too :)

  • best yet

  • are you still building with deda? i like the look of those triangular into round stays.

  • I've been to your fine shop, sir, and I'm happy to see you on here!
How should I submit my paint plan? Can it be a fade, or does it have to be one colour?

  • How about Metallic Reynolds green main frame and forks with 8" of rear triangle left stainless, bottom 8" of forks and head lugs left stainless, with Reynolds yellow band where green meets stainless. Or not!

  • Welcome to the forum Rourkie. Love your (and your dad's) work!

  • EPIC

    hot!

  • The olive colour one makes me weak at the knees

  • You're not alone.

  • ^^^Subtle

  • Glad someone picked up on it!

  • I like the idea of the fade - personally i would do a lugged front end, with a traditional paint job, that bleeds into a raw stainless fillet brazed rear end.

This would give the impression of the Heritage Reynolds is know for, moving into the cutting edge tubing they are now putting out
