Puffballs are another that don't really have any lookalikes, other than earthballs but you'd know straight away when cut.

Haha, yeah, well I'd say common parasols, oysters, blewits, puffballs, amethyst deceivers and chicken of the woods are on our "pick and eat without worrying" list in addition to those.
As far as the potentially dodgy mushrooms go, the only way is to eat a very small quantity and see what happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Worth it if you can eat things other people can't though when shrooms are scarce though, clouded funnels are delish!

Oh yeah, I'd eat giant puffball. I did find some recently but they'd started to go yellow in the middle so left them alone.

I'd love to find chicken of the woods.
Another I would eat is cauliflower fungus but I've only ever found it once.

I'd love to find chicken of the woods.
Not sure what London is like but COTW is one I find a lot. Loves cherry and oak.

Sorry if this is an incredibly dull question for you guys, but are these magic? Didn't pick em but was wondering nonetheless...

Thanks. Looking at pics on google there were definitely more of the more mature ones knocking around as well, with the sort-of frayed edges

Possibly an amethyst deceiver (which are tasty and worth learning to identify). The gills are quite distinctive.

Start of a Parasol maybe?

Make sure you're 100% sure you're 100% sure though if thinking about eating it.

Very cautious, as no idea what I’m doing. Anybody on here around Bristol area and can recommend where to learn?

I suspect armillaria, I was certainly not about to try eating them.

Thanks, will give them a look!
If you can eat shaggy parasols and other such things I'd give it a go
