  • Bar tape.

    Fucking bar tape.

  • Tyre logos/innertube valves.
Any pics of bikes must have drive crank lined up perfectly with down tube, and logos/valves at same angle front & back.
The 3 rubber grommets on rear brake cable along top tube must be evenly spaced out.
Switched from 170 to 172.5 cranks, I moved my seatpost up 2.5mm.
Any wheels I build must have the hub logo lined up with the valve hole in the rim. I made Arup do this on my latest set.
Little line on the back of my Sidi socks must be slap bang in the middle of my heel.

I sometimes wonder if I'm to blame for my son's autism.

I'm trying to work out if this makes sense or not, and it's hurting my headmeats.

    sick man

  • It doesn't.

Increases stretch by 5mm at bottom of stroke. Leaves It the same as before at top of stroke.

  • Vittoria Randonneur not seated properly.

  • Jammy

    I agree

Reckon sam is trying to make himself taller or to pull his hips out of their sockets

But that doesn't make sense either. Surely it increases stretch by 2.5mm at the downstroke and reduces it by 2.5mm at the top?

if he'd left the seat where it was...

  • ha!

  • if he'd left the seat where it was...

    [penny drops]

    Aha! That makes sense.

    :)

  • Sorry, meant to say I lowered it by 2.5mm. I'm not interested where my leg is at the top of my stroke.

  • Multi adjustable aero bars:.....Many an hour spent trying to get them perfect, and many an hour trying to invent contraptions to aid me in my battle against the "they dont feel right" battle!!

  • Weight, weight, weight, weight.... must get the weight down...... oh, and welding... actually welding more than weight, welding and joints, they must be perfect.... a little bit of oxidisation is fine, but the joints must be perfect........ so that's just weight, welding and joints..... and they must all be better than the next bike.... so that's just weight, welding and joints, and competivness...... that'll do for starters, might just make a list....

  • The internal nipple washers I'd ordered, for a bling wheel build, arrived in the post yesterday. A tiny bag the size my thumb nail containing 48 of the smallest washers you've ever seen.

I picked them up and instantly thought... 'there's some weight there'.

    I shall seek help.

  • Not anal in the slightest.
I make my bike work right then I leave it alone.
My bike is covered in road crap at the moment, but I really can't be arsed buffing it only to get shitted up again 12 hours later.

As for weight, I realise I'm best off losing weight from my own rig before I start dicking around with my bike's weight.
Instead of shaving off grams from the ride, do a big poo before leaving the house.

    Far more satisfying.

  • +1 on losing weight myself

    big poo before the ride

plus its cheaper for me to lose weight than my bike, hence why i was happy using robin mather and not someone who would do butted tubing

also probably if i lose weight it will be as a result of me getting fitter - so win win

however there are many areas where i am completely anal, but its more a case of being serious about having fun - such as purchase and preparation of good food

  • have to agree with plinth, i frequently suggest people raise or lower saddles, oil their change, true their wheels

for me these are the things which cause people to experience less pleasure on their bikes, they are clearly not serious about having fun

  • Wow I really don't care that much. as long as its comfy.

Others can do whatever they want.

I always wonder, when this classic comes up, why people assume you cant do both ;)

I do'nt go mad on my personal weight lose, as I player hooker for the local rugby team (insert funny here), and am very bored of cracking my ribs (insert more disturbing funny here). But I do watch my weight.

Plus, I always do a poo before riding. So as not to get 'caught short'.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm not a total weight weenie though. Even the Bob Jackson has titaniam saddles rails, BB spindle, pedal spindles etc.

I did a mini service on a guy at works ancient ATB. Classic horizontal TT'd ATB with rigid steel fork and old canti's. Simply fine tuned his brakes and gears, added much lube, tighten some allen bolts, and filled his tyres to the right PSI. He said the next day he had decided against ditching it now.

Makes me wonder if I want to replace my car, more because I dont know how to look after it, more then because its actually crap. Actually its a Opel, so its probably crap.

  • Volvo 242, red block B230FT, Holset HY35, E85, you will then fit in at the drag strip in Scandinavia

  • oil their change

    Oooer Mrs!

  • oil their change,

Just tried this, now my pocket's a total mess. Quieter though
