  • In my opinion if you're going faster than running pace on a shared path you're going too fast. As Oliver said they're a place for a poodle.

    Where did Oliver say that?

Anyway, even if I wasn't on a bike I wouldn't want someone else's do sniffing/barking at me so why accept it on a bike. What's wrong with putting stupid dog on leads.
I'm not against dogs in general, I absolutely adore my mates dogs but that's because they do as they're told then and there.

    sigh I said they're a place for a 'pootle'. :)

I think I just got on the wrong thread, I thought this was about towpath riding. It turns out it's about dogs - well pooles to be precise.

  • typo FFS.

  • ... pooles to be precise.

Precisely what pootle, poodle or poole?
My money's on pootle. Obvious, surely, on a towpath you shouldn't really go faster than a poodle or you're likely to come a cropper, so, shouldn't really need to have a bell.

  • I'm more than pissed off at the way I was spoken too and will be complaining.

    it twon't do any good

I don't think asking them to substantiate a law I am being accused of breaking is unreasonable?

not unreasonabe, but also asking a mugger to stop mugging you is not unreasonabele . . . . being not 'unreasonable' has little weight out in the real word.

    : (

But need to know for certain that I'm right in my argument!

Right, wrong, wrong right, meh, whatever, punch them into the canal and run off.

Apologies for my english, I have become a foreign (drinking).

Need to get a littlebit more actually

  • ..Another exchange - "could you be any more condescending?" Him "I'm sure I could try?"

    Ask a stupid question...

  • I'll paraphrase Woody Allen told Jason Biggs in "Anything Else": There are a lot of people in the world who think they know better and will try and give you good advice. Don't argue with them. Just nod, then go on and do your own thing.

Let me quote Woody Allen, in the movie "Anything Else":

In life, they'll be no shortage
of people who'll tell you how to live.
    They'll have all the answers...
what you should do and not do.
    Don't argue with them.
Say, 'Yes, that's a brilliant idea,'
    and do what you want.

  • (not verbatim)
    Diane Keane:
you were wonderfull in bed last night
    Woody Allen:
thanks, I prcatice a lot on my own

  • ^ She is called Diane Keaton.

  • Oh yes, now who on earth is Diane Keane?

  • Roy Keanes Mum

    he did say 'not verbatim'

  • ha! i actually UTFS for 'bell' because i was wondering if the consensus is that they don't work (at least in england, maybe they work in germany etc). people often don't move for a bell. they always move for a voice, altough the occasional moron will take umbrage.

  • he did say 'not verbatim'

That's OK, I just wanted to lob a verb at him.

  • Just tie one of this especially yappy poodles to your bars.

    Sorted.
