Generally am too lazy to make risotto, but new kitchen gadget has taken all the hassle out of it.
So now looking to buy kg bags of interesting rices.
I take the tedium out of making risotto by necking wine direct from the bottle as I cook. This resulted in a fairly monstrous hangover, but made the risotto borderline exciting

That's called the Floyd Method.

Since Nusa Dua (Soho) closed I've desperately searched for a near-by Nasi Goreng provider. No success so far. Tips for things to try are appreciated but it has to be Indonesian.
I never rated Nusa Dua and would always chose Bali Bali on Shaftesbury Ave. Food is good, owners are lovely and it's reasonably priced.
Also try East West Warung on Charing Cross Rd.
Have you got an apathy for Malaysian food? Plenty more choice in London compared to Indonesian.

I utilise the Floyd manoeuvre quite regularly. As I generally cook enough for three days at a time it's not too unhealthy. I tell myself.

I only ever make risotto using risotto rice. Do other rices work nicely? Risotto rice is bare price fam.

No, other rices don't really work. You can make a sort of student style/baby food version with other rice but it will be mush.

Sushi rice might work, but it would be a sticky rather than creamy.
