Yellow track tandem TT bikes, so hot.

Built this scabby Fauxnago up to do fixed intervals over winter at the Velopark road track. Might do some 10s in summer too. Quite proud of the minimalistic custom garmin mount.

Looks good! Not sure how long the Garmin will stay there though...

Ta! It was electrical tape before - feels pretty secure actually, we'll see next Wednesday.

Any tips for a very cheap nose-cut-out/off saddle? I have to tip the Rolls down to avoid crushing my nuts, so I'm constantly slipping forward.

There aren't really any. Stick a wanted ad on the TT forum, might get lucky and get and Adamo for ~£40

Maybe I'll just cut up the turbo in the parts box...

Am thinking of converting my Dolan FXE commuter into a fixed TT bike by slamming the stem, fitting TT bar and upping the gearing. This is for a 10 mile cycling part of a triathlon relay.
Worth doing or would I be better just riding my Canyon Ultimate AL maybe with clip on tri bars? I probably wouldn't be as low at the front end in this set up.
I have no real aero equipment apart from clip on tri bars.

Low end Adamo under £60 is about as cheap as it gets. They had the Iron on offer for under £80 a few weeks ago, but they have gone back up to the regular price now. Now that I'm convinced that the Iron is acceptable on the RollerFort, my yellow Tritone 5.5 is up for grabs, £40

Strictly speaking, you can't ride fixed in a triathlon, so your bike might get thrown out at scrutineering if they're sticking closely to the rules.

Cheers tester, I may well take you up on that. I've got a specialized something on the way and if that doesn't fit I'll give the tritone a go.

Bit late to the party but you can get Adamo copies on Aliexpress for much cheapness,

Read up on fake Adamos before committing, apparently they're so shit that a: they put people off real ones and b: ISM protect their brand aggressively, to the extent of tracking down fakes and destroying them.

I'll take your word on the first point, on the 2nd, they aint doing a very good job as there aren't many fake saddles on that site with the supposed manufacturers name in the item title. Infact, there's them and Fizik. There are plenty of listings for saddles with some well known brands mentioned in the title but the saddle being sold under that title bears little resemblance to anything that brand genuinely makes.
Also, destroying them? Like, while they are on your bike? Ianal but afaik, owning counterfeit goods is not an offence, it's only the selling of them under the pretences that they are genuine that's an offence.

No, at customs when they come into the EU. Under EU law, a holder of IP rights in a product can ask customs to detain suspected counterfeits and have them destroyed if they are either proven to be fake or the consignee doesn't contest the seizure and thereby abandons the goods. The Danish/Rolex case which settled this did not even involve fraud by the seller, as the buyer knew that he was buying a fake.

etc. It's not clear that ISM are doing this, but they are well aware of the counterfeiting problem and could certainly get their EU licensee to do it.

Cheers M_V, I've got a Specialized something in the post so we'll see how it works out.

Looks mean.

You're something of a "spinner" then...
-
• #596
Wow! You'll be taking roundabouts quite carefully with that BB drop I imagine.
-
• #597
Luckily J courses aren't too big on roundabouts, normally they tend to be quite circuit-y, it's only the J2/1 that has one that you have to ride all the way round, but it's so tight it's really slow anyway.

Looks like you could do with some sort of spacer between headtube and fork crown race imo if such a thing even exists.
You'd have a higher bb and you could get the saddle a little more centred respect to the seat tube -

that frame is nuts!

Presumably they changed it on the new version so that triathlengers wouldn't have as far to fall :-)
