How much could a wheel cover save at this kind of (low) level? ~20 secs?
Mark Cote (of Specialized's Win Tunnel fame) being interviewed in a CTT podcast, was fairly downbeat about rear disc's.
Something along the lines of "obviously faster than a spoked wheel, but not as much as you'd think. Twenty seconds over ten miles is a lot.
I would spend my money at the front: faster wheel, centre-pull brake and chop the upturn off the base bars (in lieu of Ventus etc) and a less chunky lever (SRAM TT500).
But you're already faster than me, so you should be giving me advice.

Well you push a bigger gear to me, so the only advice I can offer is to PLF

Yup

Riding without a lockring too, tsk tsk.

Riding without a lockring
I'm not sure what's going on there - the chain isn't on the sprocket, unless that sprocket is a dummy to retain a cassette lock ring and it's a welded up cassette hub.

I'd be surprised if the lashed up track ends are Rob's work, is it a geared frame that has been butchered?
-
• #512
Yeah, chain was off the sprocket in the HQ

Appears to have gears.

And a front disc.

And a front disc.
You're still allowed to use a front disc in UCI TTs, AFAIK. But not one that's smaller than the back wheel, so it fails to be currently legal on that basis.

It is a bit blowy by the river on that course. My 90 gets sucked back and forth even on a good day.

Looks a like quite a nice 1980s fixed low pro worth putting a offer in
Yeah, pretty much. But difficult to get right. Drag2Zero are big fans of it, lots of people come out of the tunnel using it.
Not good at higher yaw though.
