  • Awesome one..

  • Dov's a track beast slacker, this is a girls bike.

He would be a track beast if he ever came down to the track.

  • anyone? its just £430 now!

  • Awesome one..
    Do u post to india?

    yes will ship to india!

  • please, straighten out those bamboo canes, they're an eyesore

  • and.. who lives up in that little house with the brown door?

  • does it come with the slack chain?

  • amey, I think what people are telling you is that they all think that your bike is too expensively priced, hence the lack of offers. Maybe you would get a serious offer at £400, but even that might be on the high side for them. Remember, a year's warranty is calculated into the price of all new bikes, for replacement purposes and so on. Selling a bike without a valid warranty seriously devalues such a bike, and not just by the £20 your originally took off the in-store price.

The parts you've added on are worth nothing in comparison to a valid warranty. It's just business. If you don't price is properly for knowledgeable people to buy it (like on here), then consider selling it on eBay, where someone with less knowledge about bike prices, will think they're getting themselves a real bargain.

People will keep on taking the pee, till the price comes down to their expectations. hope that was helpful.

Oh, you never did say why you're selling it. Were you planning to replace it with another fgss bike, or is cycling with just the one gear proven to be too hard for you? Too many puncture maybe, or was it the wrong size? Or maybe you were credit-crunched? I only ask because you haven't had it very long.

I am selling it because I have already bought a planet x uncle john from the forum 2 weeks ago. The reason I bought that was I do long-ish rides on weekends with fellow geared bikers. Its not that i WANT to sell the bike but the lack of space and money is forcing me to. Its a great city bike. But for climbing up the beacon hill i have to stick with gears and lighter weight. I wish I had a garage or a backyard ;)

Yes the ebay ad is scheduled to go live tomorrow afternoon. I just wanted to see the selling experience here. And I think the forum is best place to buy stuff not to sell ;)

  • oh and i do get the warranty point. But I can't go below £430 so i think ebay is the place for me, or gumtree/bikeradar. If someone still wants to buy at £430 (or a sensible offer) PM me.
    thanks

  • I have never posted anything in UK, if someone helps me with it I will do it.

    post office.

  • post office.

    Dear benjam,

I am from a developing post-imperial/colonial country called India.
If in future you go there and manage to get something like posting a 13 kilo bike from one city to another city just by going to the post office and asking their help, I think you will be knighted. I don't believe the fact that system works, esp with English people and 'ROYAL' mail.

This is where post-imperial/colonial part comes in. I always wondered why everything in India is so inefficient until I came to UK and saw the motherfuckers who ruled us. But the sad thing is in India we cant afford to be inefficient cunts as our 70rs make £1. That will change soon though.

The reason of the 'outburst' is the lack of constructive criticism on the forum. If you think the bike is overpriced, say so, if some one needs help either help them or shut the fuck up. I thank kingcutter who at least offered to help. Don't be English, consider there is whole world out there, be polite and try to help others.

Thank you and please delete the thread as I have no interest selling it here.
I also dont mind being banned from the forum for saying this, I don't really care. Wasn't that the 1st thing the British did in India, gagging everyone who spoke up against them.

  • Christ, from an overpriced Langster to post-imperial relationship breakdown in the space of 40 posts! And I think it looks nice!

the bike or the breakdown? ;)

first and foremost, we all give/take on the sarcasm side, here's an example of one of my own sale threads going down like a lead balloon http://www.lfgss.com/thread47995.html. Sarcasm is an English tradition, it's how we deal with our shit, wet, over red-taped country.

you want constructive criticism: 'everyone who sells anything on this site is, on the whole, selling to a bunch of passionate people who know a lot about bikes, parts and the value thereof' if you want to sell a pretty bike at a markup then sell it to some c*nt who doesn't know a threadless aHead from a quill.

  • Good luck mate,Im sure you'l sell her e-bay or whatever.....imo its not a bad price if you include
the original bits and pieces....your outburst was pretty tame if you ask me....if your not "in"
with rude assed petty piss taking children on here your pissing in the wind.......M
