Can't move for coffee bars in South London now. Hats off to the London Particular for trying to bring a bit of pavement culture to the New Cross Road gyratory but I cannot think of any single less pleasant place to sit outdoors.
edit Fark that was a big pic

Lido Cafe makes some damn fine cwoffeee too.
I am nowhere near middle class enough for establishments like those, I also don't have the obligatory badly behaved and precocious children in tow.

Pizza Express in East Brixton?
My goodness me, the place really is coming into the 21st century.
-
• #66
Pfft, take your Canonbury trends with you!
It was a hit and miss gourmet Indian restaurant before. It's now a hit and miss pizza place for visiting East Dulwich types, with some Velodrome related signage (in fact, I hope they get tapped up for cash for the HH fund, and anyone wanting to - please send me a PM, as I can send you their marketing director's email / phone / mother's name).
Anyone wanting pizza around there should know that the Half Moon does it better and cheaper, and that there's two even better places in the middle of Brixton.
Anyway, nice costume on Saturday Clive!

Franco Manca* and the new one in Granville is meant to be good too.

had a pizza in the half moon whilst watching the spurs united match (the less said about that the better) but the pizza, not that impressed, thin base, but the liquid tomato had made the center of it a right old sloppy mess, it was almost impossible to eat with your hands...
will spend some time in franco manca before I leave to compare and contrast... -

franco manca now open late* on a thursday

Half Moon pizzas are fairly rank.
Pizza Express are okay, Orange 2 for 1 is aright touch.
Franco Manca is THE SHIT, but only open 12-5 Mon-Sat.Anyway, fuck all that and get yourself up to Braza's on Tulse Hill for some **legit **Peri-Peri chicken and home made cakes that are just fucking unbelievable.
Hmm, friend left that place as the people that ran it were dreadful...
