What is a 0 on the rep thing? How have I got one and how would I give one?

AFAIK, means noob or negative rep person trying to rep/nerg you.

I think it's someone who's new has repped you but essentially their opinion doesn't count so it's 0.

David, one of the common things that don't load now you've got the https restriction in is youtube videos.

Now they should be available on the the https URL, but if you paste in an https URL, the link isn't turned into an embedded video.

Would it be possible to change it, so that https youtube links do embed, and as an added extra, maybe turn all http youtube links to https on the fly?

While I suspect that James return here is more than welcome on the streets of Kew, as the populace enjoys his newly recovered distraction and no longer hears him screaming at minicabs until all hours of the morning, isn't there a way to ease him back gently? Maybe removing his repping powers during his probationary period? He has negatively ripped Nhatt. That is plain wrong.

His behaviour is what he'll be judged on over the next 3 months. If he over-eggs things by nerging everyone, that will be factored in. I did tell him not to push any thing too far, he'll have to bear that in mind. I won't hand-hold him, he makes his own grave by his own actions, or he finds a peaceful place amongst us by his own actions. If he chooses the former that will be his choice, but I'm not going to be holding his hand through it... hell, it would be easier to leave him banned if that's what I had to do.

how easy would it be to create a new thread listing page that shows threads in order of recent activity and maybe have it filterable by a few pre-defined filters (most posts in the last 5 minutes, an hour, a day, a week).

My thinking is if a thread has been posted in lots of times within [timeframe] then it must be a popular thread and worthy of checking out.

it would be kind of like an automatic popcorn feed but also would fill the gap between subscriptions (regular threads that most people participate in and will be subscribed to) and todays posts (posts that are recently updated but may not be popular/contain active discussions).

no that's just a live feed. I'm talking about something similiar but instead of it showing in datetime order it's also ranked based on the number of posts in a recent time frame.

essentially a list of the most popular posts in last hour/day/week/month

it'd have a lot of the really active long-running threads at the top (memes, anti/porn) but it would also help highlight new threads that are also popular.

as someone who tends to view the forum from my subscribed threads list it's tedious having to keep checking the todays posts page as it's full of classifieds/posts with only one or two posts in to see if any new threads have active discussions and are worth reading.
