And given that they're probably using session logs to do that, they can tell from the IP addresses and times when you're most likely at work or at home.

Agree it would be creepy and out of keeping with your general philosophy about tracking across the web, though perhaps there would be a way of self monitoring forum usage by collecting data that only we could access in say our own ...erm... microcosm
