Is there a way I can block lfgss every other hour of the day? Because I don't want/need to go totally cold turkey but could do with an incentive to get off it and do something useful instead of getting sucked in for whole days

Cold Turkey has several unique features:

Computer-wide: the blocking features are computer-wide, which will affect all browsers on the computer.
Durability: the ability to block yourself in intervals of 10 minutes up to a full week!
Situational Awareness: when the computer is turned off, it will still keep track of the time that passed by.
No Touchy: if Cold Turkey detects that its security features are being tampered with (hard to do), it will block you for a week.
Invincibility: Cold Turkey can't be stopped easily as it is not stoppable from the system tray or the task manager.

Just set Selfcontrol to ban lfgss for 15 minutes, worked a treat! I wrote my whole Progress Feedback Report. Yeah. Productivity. Now I'll just catch up for 10 minutes then ban myself for a bit longer so I'm forced to go to High St Ken and buy a computer lock.

Be careful, though. Banning can be addictive.

It's silly anyway, because ultimately you have to self-discipline.

After all, it's pretty simple to create an alias to avoid the ban you asked for.

I did this within about 10 minutes of requesting a temporary ban for work related reasons.

I hope he got himself banned from 4chan as well.

IMHO they are either raving nymphomaniacs, or purer than the driven snow. I, sadly, seem to have always ended up with the latter, when I would really prefer the former.
